Re: Boost sales

What you're selling, I'd say your buyer pool is pretty limited.

Have you tried advertising off Ebay.

Have a great day.

Re: Boost sales

Until someone need one of those parts your selling, they will sit.   You might want to carry a wider range of merchandise.   Those fuel tanks listed at a low price but with excessive shipping will run off buyers too.

Those parts are very specialized will take time to sell.  No way around that.  Need items anyone could use to make frequent sales.

Have you thought about some online motorcycle aficionado groups?

I am surprised more of these suggestions are not posed on these forums. Not only can you get more sales from networking, but you can also build relationships outside of eBay that allows direct to direct sales once a relationship has been established.

Re: Boost sales

You have sold 99 items in the last 90 days and currently only have 49 active listings. As others mentioned diversify your product line and diversify across multiple platforms and venues. You are in a pretty good sized metropolitan area and you are also not that far out of Kansas City. You might try some local forums and venues where you could potentially lower your price a bit since you potentially will not have FVF's and neither you or the buyer will have to worry about shipping costs or other logistical issues.

Re: Boost sales

Have you tried promoted listings?, Running markdown sales can help also, You have a tough inventory, unless someone needs that part.

Plenty of gear heads go to swapmeets. Might be a good place to start (offline).

OP seems to be doing pretty well without using PL and they are not selling a commodity item so PL is probably going to be of little benefit for the cost.

Re: Boost sales

Sell more desireable items, your sales should increase.

List/sell more items, your sales should increase.

Telling someone to "sell more desirable items"  is not helpful.  Define "desirable".  What I "desire" will not be what everyone else "desires".

For example.  A lot of people (mostly boomers) collect Coke-Cola merch.  I however find Coke-Cola to be a poisonous substance that should be outlawed for human consumption.  And absolutely can't stand Coke-Cola branded merchandise.  In fact, whenever I go to an auction and find such merchandise among my haul it gets incinerated, tossed in the garbage or scrapped.

Though I do recognize that some people desire that kind of thing, clearly I do not.

Desirability is entirely in the eye of the beholder.  There is not a single category that can claim the title of "most desired".

Then there's "needs and wants" which is a whole other topic.  One does not often find themselves in "need" of a pitman arm for a 1969 Mustang...  But on occasion the owner of a 1969 Mustang does find that need if they want to continue to drive it.  But maybe it's not their A-B vehicle and it falls into the gray area of "want-need".

Every category has it's fans.  I'm finding a lot of people this year are not spending on "want-needs".  They're putting it off for another year when they don't have to worry about their electric bill or next carton of eggs.
