I think this is fair enough for those who do it. My fear is that it isn't going to be adequately managed and some unlucky ones are gong to get the boot.

That's what it looks like to me...it clearly states "starting in early September, Good ‘Til Cancelled listings will not automatically renew."
Which begs the question WHY on God's green earth they've FORCED new sellers dumped into the new Quick Listing Tool to be able to ONLY use GTC (and it states they will automatically renew until sold or cancelled) as FP duration.
Any blue care to comment on that?

Because they don't expect new sellers to be able to figure out that if you list another 50 items and the first GTC listings renew, Ebay will make more on fees from unsuspecting new sellers.

Um, no, you locked your post. We had to start this other thread here because of that.
Anyway, as I was about to say in reply to another comment here: that feedback mini-flamewar actually occurred fifteen years ago now, when we were all much younger.
I wouldn't pay much attention to it here in 2017.
PLUS you can only "comment" or "share" a comment on the actual Blog. No way to respond to what someone else has said.

But we could give them lots of "thumbs up" and maybe they would pay attention?

Don't you mean "maybe they will have the sellers pay [ for the ] attention"? Ebay isn't going to pay anything if they don't have to ....

And wouldn't it be nice if he actually came back to his own blog to respond to some of the questions from the sellers that he's so anxious to tell the wonderful and exciting news to?

You did check his feedback, yes?
Then I am at a loss as to why he thinks some of these changes are good.
Selling on ebay isn't a major part of his 'budget'.
It is a 'necessary evil' of his job.
