Beware on how you rate eBay agents responses

I have been with eBay for over 20 years. I sell small inexpensive items. I have had occasions when I needed to contact eBay for questions and help with some issues. These are usually followed up with a questionnaire regarding the service received.  I have always been happy to speak to an eBay agent and welcome their advice. I always answer the survey they send and always gave 5 star feedback.  Recently in March, I was given over to a tech person to answer a couple of questions and to help me to fix my site. From speaking to her I got the feeling from this tech person that she was not interested in helping me at all.  The phone call left me annoyed. I said, why should I be treated like this? After all I have been with them buying and selling for more that 20 years. I'm not a newcomer. As a result, I gave her poor feedback on the survey.  So then the next day I was punished and business stopped altogether for weeks.  I got the feeling that my site was put on the back burners as a result of the survey feedback that I left for this tech person because it is too much of a coincidence. I don't know, maybe she had a bad day or something and it showed up in her responses to me but I answered honestly and was punished for doing so. So, I am putting the warning out for other vendors. Be careful on how you answer their surveys as they have the capability to **bleep** you up big time. If you have nothing good to say then disregard the survey.  Now in June, I am getting a little business but only a fraction of what it should be.

Is being put on the "back burner" the same as "throttling"?

Do you ever feel that having a lot of unhappy buyers can contribute to poor sales?

Yea for sure this happens. Seen it way too many times but its usually when there is a return, all of a sudden this site thinks you are an absolute criminal and slows down your account for a good week.

I did as you suggested and checked your feedback.

I don't think the slowdown is related to your rating on the survey to which you responded.

I think the neutral and negative feedback shows you do have unhappy buyerrs, and your response to it shows excuses rather than taking responsibility and resolving their issues.

I agree.... my Selling on Ebay days are done but I'm still an active Buyer. The Feedback left for your Buyers tells me stay away.

A quick skim of your feedback shows that you definitely have a lot of issues, shoddy product and poor customer service.

Maybe it's not actually true but that is what potential buyers will conclude if they check your feedback.

Interesting how all the negatives are for items $7.99 & below.

98.1% is not great. You have 8 negatives during the last 12 months vs 1461 total feedbacks. One of those should have been discussed with the buyer as they accidentally left u a negative on positive feedback. All of your negatives are on items $7.99 & below. Those cheaper items potentially can get you in deep trouble faster unless you are sending out 100's of those items to counterbalance the negatives.  Just my opinion.

NO CSR has the power to do that.  I see why you might find it odd.  But they don't have the power to do that to you.

PLEASE stop doing this.  Ebay does NOT "throttle" a seller.  It simply makes no sense at all.  Ebay exist to make money.  If sellers are selling Ebay isn't making money.  You have said this on many threads.  It helps NOTHING.  But it sure can cause other concerns.  I hope you will seriously consider not doing this anymore.
