So I sold my like new steam deck OLED 1tb Version. It was in excellent condition and packed very well. The buyer who purchased bought for my listed price without sending an offer, I wasn't thrown off by that because that is up to them. What did throw me off was when the buyer messaged me later that day and requested that the item be sent no later than next day. I understand wanting something but it was odd because I always ship within two days regardless.
I went ahead and sent the item regardless and didn't think much of it. Well, three days go by, last night I receive a request to return the item. The reason was item is defective and the only comments added were "I am having a problem with the console". I immediately responded and asked what was wrong and never received a response. Something in me told me to look up this address because the buyer had very little feedback, I just had this weird gut feeling.
Everything about this console was in excellent condition and the only picture they sent back was a picture of the box, lol. Nothing stating the damage or defect. Buyer never responded and now doesn't even have an account for me to send a message to.
Ebay has stepped in and taken my side, thankfully. I am not trying to spam anyone, just warning of selling high dollar electronics without looking at the feedback beforehand and searching the address.
I will update as the process continues.

Thank you for this. Some got upset that I called this place out but its very common. I am hoping all goes well for me but I am still concerned an issue may come from the seller trying to return the item to a fake address that has my zip code. I have all documentation from my chat conversation and will use it if needed.

All ff's have complaints, but they reship millions of pkgs a year with no problems. Scammers can be, and are anywhere online.

I understand but look that one up and see the many articles discussing this same issue. It sucks but yes they can be everywhere.

I just had an attempted scam going the same warehouse business shipping address yesterday:
8020 NW 66TH ST
APT ##### (I'm leaving # out for privacy, it's not really an apartment)
MIAMI, FL 33166-3900
Buyer placed order late at night. When I woke up the next morning, the new order had a Credit Card dispute filed...
Buyer's phone number didn't work.
The next night, AFTER I accepted the dispute, which should cancel the order, and I messaged buyer to let them know, the Buyer said "I don’t understand what is going on. Will you cancel my order or what?"
I repeated that order was cancelled when I accepted CC Dispute. CC will be refunded. This was 5:30am EST.
Buyer immediately responded, "The dispute seems to be a mistake. Please do not accept it or refuse it. I want the item. I never intended to cancel the order."
Luckily, the CC dispute claim came in before we shipped!!! Or, I would've been out of my item and $$.
I have questions about other people's advice here... the address was on the Buyer's account (not a different ship-to address provided). They added an "APT #" to the address (which is a warehouse). I don't have time to research EVERY address we ship to AND I didn't think we could just refuse an order without getting a defect on our account.
Reading eBay's policy, sellers are NOT covered by SELLER PROTECTIONS if "The buyer used third-party freight forwarding or mail redirection". WOW!!! How are we supposed to know that?! Why doesn't eBay block this address (and others like it)?!

It's the next day. Order now shows "Shipping overdue" while the dispute is "Awaiting Outcome".
