Best Offer Question?

I haven’t sold for at least 6 years and I’m confused by the Auction and Best Offer thing. I listed an item that I THOUGHT was an AUCTION but it says Best Offer also. HOW do I get rid of the Best Offer?  Or Can I get rid of it?  Thanks.

Best Offer Question?

This is more of a comment, and probably not directly helpful to your particular case.

If you haven't sold for a while, auctions are probably not the best way to re-start.

Take a look around in the boards, you will find that auctions breed serious issues, and that a lot of policies have most likely changed since you sold last.

Consider converting to Buy-it-now. And Immediate Payment Required sales to avoid scammers and non-payers.

You should be able to revise the listing and remove that option.

Best Offer Question?

eBay sometimes adds the best offer feature on to seller's listings, especially new/infrequent sellers.  I believe that once you get a bid, the best offer will disappear but you can remove it before that.  With auctions, best offer is meant for someone to offer more than the starting bid so it is a bit different than best offer on a fixed price listing.

Best Offer Question?

Hi.  Your listings might be defaulting to having 'Allow Offers' on.  Edit the listing and look for this under the Price.  Toggle the button on the right from on to off.  (Ebay seems to default this to whatever you set it to on the last listing that you created.)

Best Offer Question?

Just go back into the listing to edit the listing type. Once you're in the edit page, just remove the buy it now option. If you don't want to edit, then just wait for the 1st bid for the auction. That will automatically close out the best offer for the listing.

Good luck!

@!!-spike-!!

Ignore it if desired. You do not have to accept the "best offer".

Actual bids are all you have to deal with.
