Best Offer Accepted? What's that?

Anyway, why is it that when I listed an item, it seemed to automatically say "Best Offer Accepted." What? I never put down Best Offer Accepted. And I can't seem to remove that option. So what am I doing wrong? AND -- what does it mean? Do I HAVE TO ACCEPT a "best offer"?

No, you do not have to accept a Best Offer. It is an invitationn to buyers to negotiate a price on your selected items. So you can Accept, Decline or Counter. Ebay automatically includes Best Offer on some listings when using the App or the Quick Listing tool. I use the Advanced Listing format so i am not as familiar with the others, but i believe you can remove the option (but you’ll need to search for it, it is semi-hidden).

Below is a link to eBay’s Help pages on Best Offer with lots more info.

Re: Best Offer Accepted? What's that?

Sorry, I looked at it again, and it says "Or Best Offer." Not Best Offer Accepted. But what does "Or Best Offer" mean and how did it get there? Helpppp....please....:-)

Re: Best Offer Accepted? What's that?

There's a quick way to find out info.  There is a search bar at the top of this board.

Just type in what you want to look for~~like Best Offers.  All threads and posts about that will pop up.  Then you can just choose the ones that best address your question and read them to get your answer!

You can also do a google search, say, for Best Offers Ebay.  Then those topics will pop up that way.

OK, thanks. I did look up information but honestly found it difficult to understand. Thanks about the idea that I should go the advanced listing way rather than the short form. I could not find any way to remove Best Offer. But now that I understand more about it, I'll decide what I want to do. I don't think I want Best Offer. Thanks.
