I am getting really tired of people abusing the return system. I had 2 returns recently, one a pair of shorts and the other a pair of shoes. The buyer of the shorts sent me an entirely different pair, full of dog hair (Ebay is standing behind me so far). The other, the pair of shoes, came back to me much dirtier and with much more creasing to the leather uppers (and soiling of the interiors). If I call Ebay in regards to the shoes, they will probably think I am a complainer, since this would be 2 in a row. To relist the shoes I will have to take all new pictures, as they are significantly more worn and dirty. Frustrating!

@goldrushfinds wrote:They told me to go to my Ebay Hub page and report buyer. From what I understand, so far it appears as though they will not require me to refund the buyer. However, I will wait a bit longer until this case is fully closed to pass judgement. I will keep this forum updated.
I you contacted eBay thru a callback or chat, this really does not look like it will end well.
Good luck.

@laststopgeneralstore wrote:Ohh I know, I take all of my photos with a gray backround so the color is as true as possible when looking on the phone since a large percentage of buyers purchase thru the app. I've had returns like OP's as well and it's extremely aggravating when the person not only destroyed the item but is blatantly lieing about it. That is one of the main reasons I got out of the electronics category because of the amount of fraud and false returns, people taking parts out and sending the item back, send a whole different unit back etc...
Don't count out other devices. While you are correct that most purchases are made from mobile devices, still 30-40 percent is not. And monitor quality vary greatly. Unfortunately none of us can control that. I have no problem accepting that you do the best job you can taking accurate pics.

Actually, I am surprised you did not already receive the "we found in favor of the buyer" message. Contacting the outsourced customer service for these matters usually results in receiving the 'losing' the case memo in five to ten minutes.
Why are the "tags" regarding 'creating your own foot print different? Chances are good as shown in your other post that these are not even the shoes you sent. With eBay, that doesn't matter. Even though the policy says buyers are supposed to return items in the same condition, there are no consequences if they don't. That would be true if they sent you a different (even unrelated) item. You still have to refund or eBay will do it for you with your money. Do not let the timeline to refund expire waiting on any action from customer service. If you do , you will also be awarded the "case without seller resolution" ding. Refund the 50% as you are entitled to do. Let the buyer cry to mommy eBay for the rest.

There's always No Returns. It won't stop someone dead set on scamming you, but it stops a great deal of them!
I don't think eBay will stand behind you. The most they'll do is refund you that $6 refund, I forget what they call it. I got it once when I was testing out allowing returns & a buyer filed a fake SNAD & her FB showed she'd done it before. They still allowed the fake SNAD, but after I reported her, I got the $6 refund.

That's criminal. I thought mine was bad, that is pure abuse. I was able to reduce the amount of my refund due to excess wear.

The OP can deduct up to 50% on the refund due to the issues. If the buyer appeals it, if Ebay agrees with the buyer, Ebay will pay the difference to the buyer without coming back on the seller when they are TRS.

Have you completed the refund to the buyer yet? Enough time has passed that if you didn't do it voluntarily, Ebay would have stepped in. What is the status of the REturn?
