Backing out after accepting off

A buyer made an offer an I accepted it. I later get a message saying “sorry I got a better off and do not need it”. Can I make them buy since this is not within the rules of backing out of a binding agreement?

Don't make them buy it because it will come back to you one way or the other, and you'll end up paying for shipping both ways.

Re: Backing out after accepting off

After 4 days, you can cancel the sale for non-payment.

Never ever try to force a transaction on a buyer.

Even if they have already paid, if you have not already shipped, cancel the order at the buyer's request.

Forcing an item on a buyer will end up in a return case and that may/will end up costing you one way or the other in the end. Don't  do it.

Re: Backing out after accepting off

Thanks for the advice and you are correct. It just burns my butt the way people have been acting on eBay lately. I have had 2 people in the last month not pay after winning without any communication this this last guy backing out of an offer.

Thanks, I am not going to force them to buy. People just suck lately.

Re: Backing out after accepting off

Regarding those two people who didn't pay, are you routinely cancelling after 4 days of nonpayment, citing "buyer did not pay" as your reason?  Or, you can just set your parameters to do that automatically at some point as long as it's within 30 days.

How do I set my account to automatically relist if a buyer does buy when I accepted their offer?

@moneytoburn

You  have to list more than 1 in the quantity, if you have more than one.  It's right under the price of the item you are asking.

As a new seller, you should be careful selling very expensive items right from the start.  eBay watches new sellers and sometimes they will call a listing into question and will want receipts for your items you are selling.  If you can't provide them, you won't see your money from the sale for a while.

Good luck to you!

Re: Backing out after accepting off

Thank you! I listed it as 1 set that comes with 4 parfums. How about the offer when they don't pay? Is there a way I can have my item relisted after the four day waiti period?
