I RECEIVED NEGATIVE FEEDBACK FROM A BUYER BECAUSE THE POST OFFICE CRUSHED HER PACKAGE SO EBAY PUT ME AT 96%. I HAVE RECEIVED 47 POSITIVES SINCE THEN SO WHY DOES IT TAKE SO MANY TO GET BACK TO 100% ?

No matter how many you get you can't achieve 100% until its removed. So either 1 year or eBay removes it.
However you can get to 99.9%

You are at 98.4 not 96%.

It takes a year to have 100% again. Your positive feedbacks will change the percentage to better only.

I read that negative you received and apparently she viewed your response ( as alot of folks do) as shouting with all caps. You must lose the typing of capital letters when corresponding to others as it's hard to read, can be offensive and it's just plain poor typing skills.
BTW, that was criminal what the post office did to your buyers package, vintage pyrex omg, such a shame.
Have a Merry Christmas.

As a seller on eBay we are responsible to get the item to the buyer in the condition advertised regardless of issues with the carrier.
It is NEVER the buyers fault when the item is damaged by the carrier. You just have to refund and apologize. If you insured the package then YOU file a claim with the carrier in this case USPS. You better have proof that you packed to withstand being crushed by 70 pound packages. There are plenty of large packages flying down conveyor belts that could easily crush a small package such as yours. So you need to pack accordingly.
Negative feedback stays on a sellers record for 12 months before it is no longer counted.

The buyer was not a bogus buyer.

It has taken 47 positives to get to 98.4

Until it's anniversary (more or less, it's not exact) the best you can reach is 99.9...

It is not your fault that the package was crushed, but it is your responsibility.
You chose the shipper.
However the shipper (post office) is responsible to you and I hope you were able to get coverage from the insurance included in the shipping cost.
As to why it takes so long: ratios.
A seller with 10 FB gets one neg and their rating drops to 90%.
A seller with 10,000 FB gets one neg and their rating stays at 100% . That seller would need over 100 unhappy customers to drop even to 99%.
Remember not only does eBay not use FB to assess your account, but most buyers are content with 95% which they regardas an A grade.
The fastest way to repair your FB if you are unhappy about it would be to buy a lot of household needs from sellers who leave FB on shipment. Wrapping paper? Gift tags? Chocolate coins? Fancy cocoa mixes?

No.
Having eBay remove it is very unlikely. There is nothing vulgar or threatening in the feedback.
All feedback is permanent, but it drops off the FB page after 25 or more new FB and moves back a page. It is already well back.
After 12 months/365 days it no longer counts to your rating.
And even if you had only 10 FB with one negative in that year, you would return to a 100% rating.

Based on your post here, with the name-calling ("bogus buyer") and screaming all-caps, I'd say your buyer left an accurate and legitimate negative.
She did not leave a negative because of the damage. She left it because of the way you belittled her, just as you did here, with that "bogus feedback from bogus buyer" thread title.
And, by the way, if USPS crushed the box, that means you did not use a sturdy enough box.

I Have had multiple feedback removed that wasn't vulgar or threatening.
Feedback isn't permanent unless eBay feels it should stays.
If it was I certainly wouldn't have 100%.
However, I just instantly hand out free labels if any complaints come in.
I never ask for pictures or proof. 'I'm so sorry that the package got damaged during transit. Here is a free label to send it back. Once it arrives we will issue you a full refund.

Thanks but that does not help, the question was how to get feedback built back up
