BLACKOUT SATURDAYS - Anyone else in the dark

Myself and other West Coasters I follow, are seeing feeble sales this and most Saturdays. Is this common with you other sellers out there? A west coast thing? A national thing? Let me know, as I am feeling like Casper.

Re: BLACKOUT SATURDAYS - Anyone else in the dark

Until Ebay comes forth with some explanations for all the problems here I am afraid we are all in for poor sales. It has been dead silence from a company with a poor earnings report and obvious loss of sellers and tons of site glitches. One would think they would be trying very hard to salvage what is left but absolutely no communication. This does not look good. Hoping I am wrong but I am losing hope here.

I'm not the west coast and while some weeks are quiet, they all certainly aren't.  I have weekend sales regularly with the occasional crickets.

That was suppose to say I am on the West Coast.  Whoops!

Your location in El Dorado Hills plus the Aerojet jacket bring back memories of my father in law who worked for Aerojet and was integral to the building and plans of that city.

That's interesting to hear. I love it here, just hope we get some rain soon to stop any threat of further fires. Hope your sales go through the roof.

Chris

Must be your turn.  You people on the left never buy anything from me.  I rarely see any sales farther away than oh, about Texas.

And by far, most of my sales are on the east coast (lots in North Carolina for some reason). Go figure.

Ding, ding, ding! You are the sales winner. With your one sale, you beat many of us.

Re: BLACKOUT SATURDAYS - Anyone else in the dark

Many people speculate about rotating servers and on/off periods (I’m not a believer, myself). They point to these targeted geographical areas as proof.

But keep in mind, population demographics and even the culture/habits are VARY GREATLY in different areas around the country.

One’s items may simply appeal less, or fewer people shop EBay, or the population itself is sparser in certain areas.

Then there’s my repetitive caution that no one, not even sellers with hundreds or even thousands of listings have a large enough “sample size”compared to the millions (billions?) of listings on the site to form a valid hypotheses.

Yes.  It may be a seaonal thing although, yeah, no.  I know earlier in the year weekends were pretty hot.  But now they are pretty dead for me as well.  I thought this might be a viable way to make a living but probably not.  I feel pretty good though about supporting the US post office.

Still waiting on my first sale of the weekend.   Flea market was pathetic AGAIN, too!  Christmas is coming??  Good luck to us all.     🙂

Re: BLACKOUT SATURDAYS - Anyone else in the dark

I had a sale yesterday (or was it early this morning?) to Alaska. I'm about five hours north of the Gulf Coast.

Weekends have always been hit or miss for me. Most of my sales are mid-week for whatever reason.

The easier you are to offend the easier you are to control.

You said it! One sale so far this weekend and I have over one thousand items in my store.  This has never happened in the years of selling here...It's the holiday season and sales should have picked up by now...Please Ebay fix whatever needs to be fixed...

Correctamundo! Come on now, you have 1,468 active listings, with only 1 sale so far this weekend. I don't care if you were selling bags of dirt, you should still have more sales than that. I have been listing like a mad dog both yesterday and today, with no sales since early yesterday (morning hours). Usually when I am listing a lot, I get sales action, but not this weekend. Absolutely exhausting and frustrating. I really, really, really, really, really, feel like I am wasting my time.
