Autopay???

Seems like after every auction sold, it says buyer chose "Autopay"?? now we as sellers have to wait UP TO 7 days to get paid?? I was told that the program gives the buyer the option to purchase and pay for other auctions from us. Is any other seller having issues with this? We as sellers are held to such a high standard and are blasted with fees etc... etc... this is just frustrating

@remwhen17

Buyers aren’t choosing auto pay you have your buyer requirements set to require buyers to provide a method of payment before placing their bids. You can uncheck the box if you don’t auto pay on your listings.

Imagine how your buyers feel.  Before eBay enacted the 7 days to pay thing,  a buyer who won, for example, ten of your card listings with $5.25 shipping each would be auto-billed at auction end for each separately at full shipping cost.  They could not request a total for the ten wins, and you could not send an invoice and they would be paying $52.50 for the ten cards.   Buyers likely only did this ONCE, and then avoided sellers who had their "Buyer Rules" set to yes.   (See message # 2 for a link and screenshot provided by @ebooksdiva )

Though originally touted as a way to get rid of non-paying buyers, the procedure did more to discourage PAYING BUYERS from participating.  They got burned by this once, they don't return.  Many sellers don't even know that those defaults are there, much less what they do.  When they do figure it out, it is something a seller can control.

Some sellers that do not wish to encourage multiple sales to the same buyer and provide combined shipping thought this plan was just great because they got paid faster.  Faster, but likely less due to having to pay extra for individual sales to eBay,  the unpopularity with buyers, and those buyers who simply found a more 'enlighted' and 'buyer friendly' seller.   Now it is not even FASTER....but still likely less due to all the buyers who already found a better place to buy.

Turning the Buyer Rules off, will put the control back in the hands of the seller for the number of days allowed to pay (min. 4)/combine/invoice.  Those that have dispensed with the requirement of having buyers  put up a payment source first,  also reported a marked increase in bidding, and thus more money made by not restricting their buyer pool.

You will have to decide what is best for you.

Autopay???

When a buyer places a bid on an Auction and if the seller has Auto pay checked in their Buyer requirements, the buyer is required to supply their payment information before they are allowed to bid.  With this option, buyer have up to one hour after the auction closes to adjust or change their payment info.  They can't delete it, but they can change the payment and/or the ship to address.

Now the 7 day option to pay is because the seller offers Combined Shipping.,

You can check on all the details of your Payment account, anytime you want to in the Seller Hub.  I will give you the link to your Payment Summary page.  This page is just full of information.  Scroll down and you will get to your preferences for Payouts.  Look to see if they are correct.  Spend time with this page and see all it has to offer you.

I would NOT advise you to change anything until you know the impact of what you change would have on your account.  So come back and ask so you don't cause your money to get held up.

On each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.

I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.

Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.

https://twitter.com/askebay

https://www.facebook.com/ebay

https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/

Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.

If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.

If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.
