So my deliemma is returns/refunds are being automatically accepted, but I do NOT have the preferences set up to take them automatically. Now, for example, I have 30 day return set up, will I have to literally to set up my return preferences so it stops taking the returns automatically? or is this a glitch in the system?
For insight, My return preferences are blank and are not set up to automatically take returns.

I've read here that many people are experiencing this, even though they did not implement the feature. May be a glitch indeed.

Not sure there is any way to refuse to take returns if they are NAD.
My understanding has always been that, if a seller refuses to take returns for that reason, eBay will refund the buyer from the seller's funds and will let the buyer keep the item in question.

EBAY return system is automated to "accept returns" (without your approval). EBAY wants to keep their customer's happy and doesn't care what Seller preferences are.

Okay, so technically Is Ebay supposed to automatically step in & accept refunds on my behalf (right after buyer issues it) because my return/refund preferences are Not set up to take them automatically?

You really need to set up your seller preferences including returns and shipping policies.
You will have some protection and control over how issues are handled.

If a buyer opens an NAD case, how will you NOT refund?
