Automatic Relist, how to Disable in 2024?

Okay, I tried looking before I listed a few auctions for sale last week, and here I am after they automatically relisted. I DO NOT WANT ANY AUCTIONS TO AUTOMATICALLY RELIST. Yes I typed in all caps to make that point very clear. I have a few bicycles for sale, I thought I’d try ebay for the 7 day duration, and don’t want to be strong armed into selling here with an auction that relists by itself. Now one of them has a bid and the buyer messaged me that he wants to take it to a bike shop for evaluation before he actually buys it, I am not dealing with that headache and I can’t even cancel bids anymore or end auctions without being charged, I stated they needed some TLC / fixer uppers. I'm annoyed because this shouldn't have even been relisted here on ebay and I wouldn't be dealing with this right now.

I thought I looked well for a check box to unselect auto relist and could not find it. I presumed that was only for the fixed price listings, not the auctions since I did not see the check box, yet here they are relisted. Ebay has changed so much I can’t find it or the drop down menu for it.

Can someone tell me if this is possible anymore and how to do it?

Thanks

ebay was so much better 10 to 15 years ago. Listing items recently is a reminder why I stopped selling stuff here.

eBay gifts 8 relists to new/occasional sellers for unsold auctions. AFAIK, there's not a button to disable this in this situation. You may have to simply take down the listings.

Thanks for the reply. Okay, how do I take down the listings without being charged? This use to be a simple matter of ending a listing and done. I've sold a couple thousand items on here over the years, and there were occasions I had an error / mistake in listing(s), item got damaged or whatever and it was easy to end a listing, but now ebay will strong-arm you and take money for just ending a listing which is ridiculous. I've already lost about $70 to ebay taking money for ending listings on stuff I didn't even sell. I haven't really sold or used ebay since they started making all these changes, and I do not want to lose anymore money to them without actually selling anything.

In the create listing form to the right of where you select auction or fixed price there is a place to click that says "see pricing options." Auto-relist is one of those options.

If there are no bids, you should not be charged for delisting.

Automatic Relist, how to Disable in 2024?

I just created a new listing to look and test for this, they do not seem to give me the option to opt out of the automatic relist.

Is says this in that link:

"Keep in mind that the automatic relist option is only available on listings created by new and occasional sellers. The option will not show for other sellers."

So it appears I have no choice in the matter of automatic relisting. It makes no sense to not have this as an option sellers can chose from. Some items are great to just keep listing themselves, others are not.

The option is in the create listing form but it's hidden by default.

To unhide it...

In the create listing form to the right of where you select auction or fixed price there is a place to click that says "see pricing options." Auto-relist is one of those options. (You enable any of the options in that drop-down menu that you want to have available to you in the listing form. Auto-relist is hidden by default for some reason.)

There is an option to automatically relist auctions.

Just because you aren't aware of it doesn't mean it does not exist.

It appears that the auto-relist feature is automatic now. Several years ago until about 2 years ago, it was an option:

I can explain it to you but I can’t understand it for you.

Yes they are. It's fairly new that it's automatic.

It is an option (although as I mentioned earlier the option in the listing form is hidden by default.)

If the items are relisting free, I don't see the issue, sorry. Would you not rather sell it later than not at all? maybe I am missing something.
