If they're doing it the way they have been for the 10-or-fewer sales sellers (and if I have this right) the auto feedback loads 7 days after a delivery. The wording ^here^ literally says "Starting September 3, you'll automatically receive feedback ...." so I wonder if that means we'll actually see those for items delivered 7 days before tomorrow .... or if it will start with items delivered tomorrow ..... or items bought tomorrow ..... or what.
Knowing eBay, there will be some glitch and we'll all wake up with thousands more feedbacks, like in Office Space when they accidentally embezzle $300k overnight instead of over 2 years. 🤣

It’s more palatable for the feedback to be left after the buyers feedback threshold expires. Whether true or not, it adds credence to the transaction being at least somewhat positive.
Absolutely I may change my mind, but if feedback were based on the total amount of transactions, I think those drastic drop in scores many top sellers are getting over 1 or 2 negatives despite cranking out thousands of solid transactions, would be just a footnote.
NO. Our feedback ratings have ALWAYS been based on the feedback received. For transactions that never got feedback posted by the buyer, was NOT represented in our numbers.
As has been reported by many sellers on various threads over the years. Buyers simply don't leave feedback that often. For me and many others, it is about 1/3rd of my buyers that leave feedback. So my feedback rating / percentage is based off of only 1/3rd of my transaction, which has never been fair to sellers.
I see your point, however I don't think sellers have to wait that long. There is no harm to buyers with this policy. NONE. If the buyer wants to leave feedback within 60 days, the auto feedback is removed and the buyer's feedback will replace it.

Scores would NOT drop on sellers. Their feedback percentages would increase because there is more feedback posted. Again the old way of calculating our feedback percentage was ONLY based off of the feedback that was actually left my a buyer. So our percentages were always unfair and controlled by a minority of buyers.
Come next month, sellers will have to contend with more negative feedback as getting it removed is going to be very hard since Ebay will be allowing a buyer the option to edit their feedback to remove anything that breaches policy. If a buyer does that, the negative will remain. If the buyer doesn't do that, the feedback will be removed.
And this huge change has to do with the FTC.

Again, 12 months of rolling feedback is just silly. I want to be judged on duration not just what happened the last 12 months. Why there can’t be both? Like hover over the feedback score and it shows specific periods. It’s not rocket science it’s very basic programming.
That may be partly true because you had 1 removed and 4 were auto removed [which will no longer happen].
Now with the change this month. Changing to a 12 month period would not be as problematic as it would have been before this change.
Amazon does their seller feedback the way you appear to prefer. Buyers posting feedback for sellers on Amz is so few and far between. Since most buyers on this site only post feedback when they perceive an issue, it really drags a seller's percentage down. It is likely on AMZ that not even 5% of buyers leave feedback. So my percentage is controlled by 5% or less of my transactions. It is awful and beyond unfair. It certainly is not representative of how I conduct my business.

The % score is meant to be a snapshot of a seller’s overall performance. The rolling 12‑month view is designed to give buyers a current picture of how a seller is doing now, not necessarily how they were doing years ago. That way, if a seller has improved their practices or resolved past issues, their score reflects that progress more quickly. It also means if a good seller gets stuck with negative feedback that does not actually reflect a seller's performance but does not violate eBay's policy, then that feedback has less of an impact as time goes on.
Why not both? Because it will cause shopper confusion and also most people do not care one way or the other. eBay wants shoppers to be converted into buyers as fast as possible. There is no need to slow things down by giving them more things to consider. This is one of the main reasons why eBay does not show every listing for an item when a shopper searches for it. There is a fine line between overwhelming buyers and giving the select ones who want to know about a seller's performance history some limited information.

Haha I wasn’t even aware I had 4 auto removed. I know I had asked to have one removed on this account due to a nutcase buyer claiming I stole her refund on a return. But it turned out she owed money to eBay.
I definitely have noticed buyers are striking back now. I got hit with a few negatives on each of my other accounts. So I definitely feel the pain of how heavy the burden of negatives can be. Especially as inventory runs thin and there’s fewer and fewer options to procure more merchandise.
Let’s see how this plays out, nothing we say or do will change the executive decisions that were made. It’s not our playground, so we must either make the best out of it or not. No one is forcing any of us to buy or sell here. I will always adjust to the circumstances, but it won’t always be quietly…

You didn't have 4 negatives auto-removed; I have no idea why she said that. But you HAVE received 4 automatic positives. So these would be 4 items that were delivered sometime between Aug. 23rd and Aug. 29th. (if you want, you can check the delivery dates on these and tell me if I'm wrong).

Ahh, thank you very much for taking the time to make that clarification. I appreciate it. Either way I consider you and Mam amongst the “best” contributors on this forum.

Small update for those who inquired.
As of this morning, I’ve received a total of 6 automated feedbacks; I’ve also received 3 new organic feedbacks left by buyers.
I was at 6260… the 3 organic feedbacks from buyers has brought me to the current 6263.
The 6 automated feedbacks comments have had no change on my score. The buyers of those items are new customers that have not previously purchased from me.
So, in my case, the automated feedbacks comments have had no effect on my total feedback score.
Thank you, eBay, for your continued excellence… 🙂

We've just noticed something else - None of our 10 auto feedback is marked as feedback left on the sold ... I mean order page. The only way we find out is when the total feedback count goes up.

Thats not true... and arent amazon reviews typically more product based, not how you conduct your business? If it's 'awful and beyond unfair' for you, isnt it also the same for everyone else...?
"4 were auto removed"
How can you tell?

I have noticed this also. It would be nice if eBay could make an icon for automated feedback left on the orders page, or better for me, would be to have it on the paid and shipped page.

Simply a new color on the feedback left icon would do it!

Sure would! I will go to my Orders>Paid and shipped right now and use the ? to send eBay the suggestion.

@steve_stuff @mcdougle4248 Are yall talking about the green 'plus' symbol?
To me it makes sense to show that only for manual feedbacks, not automatic ones. I believe the purpose of showing that symbol on the Orders page is for sellers who prefer to wait for buyers to give them feedback before giving it to those buyers. Theoretically eBay could create a new one for automatic feedback left, and make it some other color instead of green (as @krazzykats seems to suggest). But I think pretty soon we'll be able to tell what the exact # of days time delay these autos get generated. If it's 7 days for instance, then you could just look at the delivered date, add 7 days, and know that the auto has been left (or should be; you could always double check on your feedback profile).

It could turn red, I do like red. 😁

@chapeau-noir ^Here's someone else with the same issue you talked about last night. Is there any chance either of you remembers what your # of positives in the past month (or more importantly, YEAR) was before you got the autos? I'm just wondering if that changed, because that's where the actual percent positive calculation comes from (not the big total number for your whole account's lifetime).
@Anonymous Here's a screenshot of your numbers. I saw that you have indeed gotten 6 auto's and that your current lifetime number is 6263, but keep an eye on these current-year numbers, and see if they change, either from the 6 new auto's or any more that come after them.
