This will be very welcomed by sellers.

Automated Feedback
- Currently, only about one in three buyers chooses to leave feedback, even on successful transactions.
- Beginning in September, when a seller in the U.S. uses a tracked service, delivers on time, and no issues are reported, eBay will automatically leave positive feedback for the seller.
Here's the reference link for that quote:

At the moment, automated feedback only applies for sellers who have received 10 feedback or less.
If this changes so that it applies for all sellers, that could be a bad thing. It may mean that the many buyers who now don't leave negative feedback for a bad transaction, will start to leave a negative or neutral just to be sure that the seller doesn't get an automatic positive.

I don't know if it's going to be good or not?
Might be seeing more negative feedback from buyers.
I've had transactions where I decided not to leave any feedback for the seller and they shouldn't receive positive feedback.
If I know Ebay would automatically leave positive feedback for a bad transaction, I'd go ahead and leave the negative they deserved.
It should be up to the buyer if they leave any or not.

I think the huge number of feedback you will now recieve from people who literally never leave feedback will more than make up for that one grouch that both even knows about this system and would be inclined to change their behavior because of it.

That's a horrible idea!

I have a 99.8% feedback rating.
In 22+ years, 99.8% is the lowest it's been for much more than a month or two.
It's not 99.9% because people no longer leave feedback as much as they used to.
And that's not going to change.
SO, I'll now have 99.9%
And so will everybody that currently has FAR LESS.
Thanks eBay (for making us all equal, especially on the only place a sellers true reputation is shown)

Yes, nothing says "this is a reputable seller" like a bunch of AI-generated generic feedback.

Correct you are!
Now that "no description / plaster listings" seller with 100,000 listings won't have that 89.8% rating.
It'll be 99.9% due to the sheer volume of sales

This needs to be printed on a banner! As can be seen by my FB, I don't buy much. At 92 years, you don't need much.
But I've had more than one experience with sellers that was not 100% positive so I chose to leave no FB at all. In that situation, why would I want eBay to decide for me what kind of FB that seller should receive from me?

It should be printed on a Lions Club banner.

If it's only for sellers with 10 or less feedback I find it pointless then. It's only meaningful if all sellers receive automatic feedback. Originally I thought the same which was in the announcement that it was going to be for every seller.

"It's only meaningful if all sellers receive automatic feedback."
If all sellers receive automatic feedback, it's completely meaningless.

It doesn't affect me...so no worries.
However, feedbacks are not left in a timely manner by buyers.
Thus, eBay leaving positive feedbacks in so many days...and then a buyer(s) decides to return something after that positive feedback left...that's opening 'Pandora's box'.
And those with a lot of negative feedbacks will now get a higher feedback rating and thus buyers will or might buy from them.
The 'big' sellers will profit from this...so I guess it's a profit for eBay...sort of.
I am just going to sit back and watch the complaints roll in...😎

It's already in place for sellers with 10 or less feedback and has been for a little while. The announcement is that it will be rolled out for all sellers.

"If all sellers receive automatic feedback, it's completely meaningless."
That's your opinion which you are entitled to. I disagree. I find it a good thing buyers leave positive feedback that they appreciate the time and effort. It's a form of courtesy. If say there was a problem Ebay force sellers to accept a return and refund in a situation like that.
