Automate feedback

It always drives me crazy when I see buyer and seller being used interchangeably on the forum. Now eBay is making this mistake.

I recently turned on the new feature - automatically leave positive feedback when buyer has paid for the item and left positive feedback in selling preferences. But I noticed it automates reciprocal feedbacks to all positive feedbacks I receive whether I'm selling or buying.

The setting has the option for seller to automatically leave positive feedback when buyer has paid for the item. So when I buy from them I will receive their positive feedback and reciprocate, all at once before they even realize they have a new order and before I receive the item. The feedback I send to the seller is the one I saved for my buyer. So I have to turn this feature off until eBay fixes it.

Automate feedback

@inhawaii

I think the OP is referring to the automated feedback glitch.

I bought something from a seller a couple days ago that seller left me positive feedback for my purchase. The automated feedback thought they were a buyer so it left feed back for me. Take a peek at the feedback I left for others you will see what the OP is talking about.

Automate feedback

I'm not clear on what you're saying.

As a seller I have auto positive feedback turned on. If a buyer buys from me they immediately get a positive feedback from me.

It has nothing to do with feedback when I buy something.

Automate feedback

1.) there is a glitch; temporary

But more importantly 2.) what is the deal with you not liking interchanging etc.

I buy and I sell. Been doing that since AOL days.

@inhawaii  The glitch I've read about a couple of times in the last few days is that when a seller uses the Automated FB for their buyers, it ALSO is now leaving an automated FB if YOU are the buyer for a transaction.   At least that's how I understand it.

Automate feedback

So, as the seller, I had turned ON the Automate feedback for buyers a while back (couple of months).  I then updated it to "once paid and positive feedback is received".  I noticed that regardless of payment or feedback from the buyers, my seller account was leaving pos FB for EVERYONE.  I turned it off...weeks ago...so I could work on this manually for a while and see what is going on.  My seller account is STILL leaving pos feedback for EVERYONE....even our recent (and only) negative feedback buyer!  This is quite frustrating.  I chatted with CSR and they supposedly opened a ticket with tech support.  How likely is it that they will fix this?  I don't care about the 1 feedback issue (although he certainly didn't need pos feedback from me with what he left for me...but I digress), but I do want to know the automated system is doing as directed and so far, it is not.
