Has anyone ever had a pair of Nikes come back inspection failed? However, you know they are authentic. What did you do?

My impression was if they deemed they were not authentic, they would not send them back at all?

I know little to nothing about that authenticity program other than what I've read on here but what I've read on here is enough to make me recommend nobody ever use that... seems like it's rife with corruption and incorrect decisions of authenticity.

I have no idea if you could get those authenticated locally at a trusted place that does such a thing but if so I'd recommend that and then trying to sell them locally as well.

It's against Federal law to ship counterfeit goods. You won't get them back.

I have some watches in the program and was asking the CSR at the authenticate team about how things are going.....I mentioned there had been a lot of discussion on the boards about delays and so forth

the CSR explained to me that the stuff comes into sneakercon piled on pallets and shrink wrapped.

just like the post office, some piles sit longer than others...........who knows why

my take on the conversation is that the sneaker people are quite busy and that there is mountains of work to be done.maybe they only spend all of 10 seconds before they say yay or neigh

this has happened to others when they went to sell their previously authentcated sneakers.

some sneakers get thru one time but not the next

Lots of problems unfortunately have been posted about this program.

If your sneakers cannot be proven to be authentic or fake than I believe you get them back, if your sneakers are proven to be counterfeit than ebay will NOT return them. If they are proven to be authentic then ebay forwards them on to buyer with an attachment of authenticity to the shoe.

Problems we are reading about including recent posts are after shoes are deemed authentic, buyers are claiming no and pulling a chargeback on their CCs.

Okay... the words "come back" and "inspection failed" are confusing me as they are used in this sentence.

Do you use "come back" to mean 'physically be returned'... or to mean 'be reported as'?? 🤔

There are only certain circumstances where you will not get your shoes back if they are deemed counterfeit.

Most often they will return them to the seller because; These "authenticators" are fallible human beings.

The people they've been hiring are often from SALES-

They can make mistakes.. eBay authentication is NOT customs or ICE, which will destroy items deemed counterfeit.

That said; these authentication programs have some big issues, HUGE issues.

OP- Once eBay's team deems them nonauthentic, you can't sell them here..

If you want you can find an online authentication service, pay for a cert and list them elsewhere..

Easy to misread - I do it, too..

Not saying 'NO' doesn't mean 'YES'.

The foolishness of one's actions or words is determined by the number of witnesses.

Perhaps if Brains were described as an APP, many people would use them more often.

I have a huge issue with this-

Again, referring to the program's Terms of Service, I would point to the following verbiage:

"You acknowledge and agree that if the third party authenticator detects fraud or suspects that an item is counterfeit, the item will be removed from marketplace circulation - neither buyer or seller will receive the item; in addition, eBay will work with the proper authorities as needed."

Doesn't look to me, based on the highlighted verbiage, that anything has to be "proven."

Or perhaps I've misread the Terms of Service? As you say, easy to do . . .
