Auctions binding?

Seller had an auction for an item then when he did not like the auction result he cancelled the order using 'buyer requested to cancel order'. He then messaged me with this "Hi. Sorry. I'll have to cancel. The price is too low". I've reported seller and left negative feedback to warn others. What are any other options?

You did all you can do so just stop being mad about not getting a deal of the century and move on.

People will do anything to blame Ebay for their problems. Believe me the seller knew exactly what they were doing when they opened the bid too low. It did not take Ebay to suggest a thing.

Yes, I just had this happen to me the other day. Bought and paid for them hours later was messaged that the item was no longer available. Then why let the auction go forward. I too think the seller was not happy with the final price. Either that or he discovered how valuable the item was and decided to not fulfill his obligation. I would think legally, once bought, paid and money accepted that the item is the property of the buyer. There should be some sort of recourse. What’s the point of an auction if the seller can just pull their item after the fact? eBay holds some responsibility as well as representing an auction house. Personally, I’m thinking of looking further into it legally. As far as I see it I am a victim of grand larceny.
