If you posted any fixed price items on the first day of the new GTC you started having your GTC postings automatically relisted effect yesterday (4-17-19) if not cancelled. You may start incurring additional (unexpected) fees if you're not careful. GTC represents a serious juggling acts for many sellers. You need to first to look at how many "free postings" you have left then estimate how many items you may sell for the rest of the month, then look at how many GTC items that will be relisting automatically during the rest of the month and how many of those you may like to end, then determine how many new items you'd like to post during the rest of the month and don't forget those items you have in your inventory that are approaching 90 days and will be lost if not relisted. Seems simple enough right? If what I've been reading on this Chat Room is accurate, Ebay should see a noticeable cost reduction in the invoices sent out for April as small/mid size sellers post/sell less or even leave Ebay. In May invoices sellers will see the full impact of GTC items automatically relisting and perhaps exceeding their free listings resulting in additional fees/charges.

My sentiments exactly...you took the words out of my mouth...I have 500 free listings a month, it is now 4-18-19 and tomorrow 2 items are schedule to be automatically renewed with several more on each following day. I have to look at them and make a decision what to do. Normally by mid month I start to relist my selected items or have new items to list. But I can't do that as I know my unused 100 BIN free listings that I saved for this automatic renewal will be used up. Therefore the consequences for me, are to either pay for more new listings or not to list anything new.
I am a small seller and on a fixed income, I sell antiques and collectibles...I don't sell a lot but enough to make this worthwhile for me to make some extra money and to keep me off the streets. This isn't a big deal for me but can feel others pain and concern with this forced way of doing business. My only recourse is to use other vehicles for selling which are much cheaper for longer periods of time. Apparently this site doesn't care about the little sellers..I get that but I can't believe as a whole we don't bring some value to their site. At the very least I thought that maybe we would get some free listings this month.
This is how these forced "Good Till Canceled" changes have affected me.

This is exactly how I feel. Not sure what I will do. Going on Vacation later in May and will figure out after, I get back. I use my Ebay sells for extra income as I am retired . I also enjoyed finding and selling items. Now all the pleasure of this is gone. The seller, not Ebay should have the option of how and when to list. I will check back after Vacation as all my listing will be down to see any new comments on how sellers are handling.

eBay used to send free listings out in the Spring Time for Spring Cleaning and throughout the years I enjoyed that perk and the extra income those free listings provided.
Only Spring Cleaning eBay is concerned with these days is cleaning out our Credit/Debit cards and Bank Accounts with the new wonderful changes they made that we are all just so happy about. I should not have a charge appear on my Credit Card if I am incapacitated in some way or God Forbid on Vacation somewhere with spotty Internet Access and I cannot cancel listings before eBay decides to put them back up on my Digital Store Shelf.
Happy Easter eBay. You rotten egg.

You and everyone else knew this was coming for a long time now. If you didn't already prepare for it by cancelling your unwanted listings before the GTC kicks in then you have no one to blame but yourself !! And my invoice for April was extremely high !! So I can't relate at all to what you are saying. Obviously you just felt the need to repeat what has already been repeated 1,000 X before. Cancel what you don't want automatically re-listed before the GTC kicks in or lose your free listings or a portion of them. I personally took every listing down so I can decide what goes back up and what new listings I will add without losing any free listings.

Glad to hear you're on top of things and the GTC policy isn't an issue for you. You're we had two weeks to prepare for the new GTC policy. I don't understand all the uproar either. I'm not sure that canceling all of your listings is the most effective approach but if it's working for you that's great. When I mentioned April's invoices I was of course referencing the April's billing that is comes out in May. I think you're talking about the business you did in March before GTC. My March's invoice was high as well but April projects to be about 40% lower. I don't see how anybody (Ebay or the sellers) wins in that scenario but what do I know. Must be that new math.

I meant to say my invoice for March was extremely high !! But my invoice for April will be very low !! Nothing listed = no sales but I'm getting them ready !! 😀

I only canceled 6 listings 30 minutes before they were to roll over. I will switch them over to auction-style at some later date.

I don’t like this new GTC format either...this does not show the date and time for the renewal which is an unfair method on eBay’s part...I’m also not convinced that the re-listings are appearing as new in the search fields, as my sales are down 37% from the previous month....please make this more seller oriented...

This new policy of forcing the good til cancelled option on all fixed price listings is totally killing my sales. I've got lots of watchers but they now have no incentive to go ahead and make the purchase as they can't even see an ending date. So I will give it til the end of May and if it continues as it is now I will be closing my store and closing my account with eBay after 15 years of selling here. I'm a small seller and it is quite obvious that they are making every effort to rid themselves of small sellers and this latest move will likely accomplish what they have spent the last two years working towards. They forget that we small sellers also buy on eBay and many of us won't bother with eBay at all if we stop selling here. So it may be more of a loss for them than they realize.

I used the CUSTOMIZE option in my Active Listings so I can see at a glance which listings are about to roll over and can then make decisions as to what to do.

GTC is here for a reason !! Ebay wants sales which translates to more money !! Ebay doesn't want items that are just sitting taking up space without no benefit to them. And if you are listing more than your allotment of free listings they will make you pay for them !! So it's either list items that have the potential to sell and take down your items that just sit and do nothing for you or ebay !! Again it's your choice to re-list items or not. You know how many of your items have been sitting for 6 months and not selling. Take them down or you will pay to re-list them if you don't have any free listings left. Use your free listings wisely !! Just don't list something because you can. If you see there's a huge amount of the same item you want to list you either under sell every one of them or not list that item at all. Once your free listings are used up and you want to list more items you know you are going to pay for to list them. Listen it doesn't matter if you have 100 , 1,000 or 10,000 items listed. More is not always better. It's what's in those listings that matters !! So now you will pay if you choose to re-list all those items that take up space without selling . Ebay wants more sales not necessarily more listings that just sit. To be blunt Ebay wants money for your items that don't or won't sell . And if you are going to continue to list them Ebay will get paid for them.

This is how I feel too. eBay has stolen my joy in thrifting and selling as soon as they made listing a continuous mathematical story problem.
