Sorry if this is repetitive. I am pretty much done for good here after 2 accounts since 1998. CoVid and other things done it for me, I am basically keeping the shop for nostalgia but it is off and will go down eventually.
I've seen this payoneer thing. I do not intend to join as I am practically outta bsiness. Is eBay removing PayPal alltogether or what?... and what happenes if I don't join payoneer before the 25th ... will my account be halted?
Can I downgrade my account to a personal one to avoid all this? I'm not really selling anything anymore.
Thanks in advance

All buyers can pay with Paypal
All sellers are still accepting Paypal but the money goes thru MPs and not into their PP accounts.
What would "Force" you into joining Payoneer?

You're in Israel. Is Managed payments available to you? Have you been invited?
eBay warned us 3 years ago that MPs was coming, and Paypal was going.

eBay sellers will not be able to use PayPal to process their payments in the future. Buyers will still be able to pay with PayPal, but the payment will be processed by eBay managed payments, not PayPal. In some countries, sellers have to register a bank account to receive the payments, and in other countries, sellers have to provide a Payoneer account to receive the payments.
eBay has not provided a list of which countries will have to use Payoneer, but the sellers won't have a choice. If eBay says you have to use Payoneer, then that's the case. Based on your experience, we can add Israel to the countries using Payoneer, which currently include: China, Japan, New Zealand (possibly only some sellers, eBay's choice), Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Israel.
If you don't register by the deadline, then you may be able to continue receiving payments through PayPal, but at some point you will be blocked from editing or creating new ones, and at some time, your payments will be processed the new way, and you will have to provide a Payoneer account or you won't receive the payments.
If you don't want to use Payoneer, then you should end your listings and close your store. I think you should still be able to purchase items, and you will still be able to pay with PayPal if you want.

Thanks for that. Given my state of affairs (50-100 bucks a month isnt 'sales'), I'm pretty much done here. But there were sure some good times way back... for me the early to mid 2000's will be remembered as the best. I understand, we live in different world now, less human contact, everything is controlled by some algorithm... if you're not in the system you don't exist.

I live in Brazil, and In my country Payoneer is better than paypal.
Reasons:
- It avoids 3rd part fees, which was 4.2% in paypal.
- the incomes was automatically converted to my currency, and I could not choose a better day to do that currency (when the dollar price is good)
- I also loose around 5% in this conversion via Paypal: in Payoneer this percentage is lower.
- To pay the ebay fees, with my credit card, I had to convert from Real currency to Dollar, which makes loose more 5% + 6,38% (brazilian international fee).
- Long story short: with Payoneer I will save a lot of money, and I decide when I will withdraw the money to my bank account to have a better conversion.
Better think about Payoneer…
Greetings
Raphael

Are we COMPELLED to use payoneer from now on?
No, we're not. This is the US boards. We don't even use payoneer here.

Yes, E-Bay has replaced Paypal in many Countries wirh Payoneer.
If you have received the email advising of a specific date to transition, that is your only option should you wish to continue to sell on the e-Bay platform.
This is a US Seller board and sellers in the US do not use Payoneer. You might wish to post on the boards that support those where you reside.
Good luck on your decision!

@katzrul15, the OP is in Israel, and the user who bumped the thread is in Brazil.
Both of those countries have "eBay websites" but they are part of eBay.com, not stand-alone eBay sites. Israel: il.ebay.com and Brazil: br.ebay.com.
These boards are the community boards that are linked to those eBay sites. They did ask on the appropriate boards, and many sellers on eBay.com do have to use Payoneer now.
Actually, I just scanned the list of eBay websites that is on the bottom right corner of the eBay home page, and there are a lot of changes from the last time I took notice of it. It appears that there are only 2 eBay sites based in the Americas: USA and Canada. All of the other eBay sites in North and South America are part of eBay.com, including Mexico, Puerto Rico, and all of the sites in Central and South America. Also, a few surprises from other parts of the world, like Portugal, Israel, Russia, and Kazakhstan.

I believe that the vast majority sellers out of USA/Europe zone didn't liked the ebay mp. The reason? Payoneer is a NIGHTMARE, it seems an amateur site/app made by a 17 years old teenager. The communication is BAD(believe me, they are really bad here in South America), the limits and fees for each country is not clear, you discovery when you try to withdraw your money, use ATM is not a case because the fees is insanely abusive(i took 22USD and paid 8USD of fees). Ebay MP is the only way to ebay take more money from sellers, is not enough be a billionaire, THEY WANT MORE lol. Send payout to PayPal would be a nice choice. I prefer to pay 7% PayPal fee than use this amateur and terrible site called payoneer.

Not only are we not compelled to use Payoneer, we can't use Payoneer. This is the US board. We don't use Payoneer here, we use Ebay's managed payments.

Apologies. We have been beaten down by thousands of nonsensical posts from members in Sri Lanka for months now. Each day brings more of the same nonsense and many members are worn out from them.

but their POLICY IS TERRIBLE and STRANGE !!! after TWO MONTH of messaging back and forward, after having my BANK CARD INFO, MY ID (!!!) , MY DRIVING LICENCE and my PASSPORT Photos (!!!!!) they still "" need me to provide any OTHER Proof of adress "" like bill statement e.t.c IDIOTS. I CAN NOT FIND OTHER WORDS for such a STUPID POLICY & SUPER SLOW COSTUMER SUPPORT ANSWERING TO THE MAILS. IM GOING TO CLOSE MY EBAY ACCOUNT ! That definiely is not what ebay wishs to have as a result but they should think about it IN ADVANCE
