Earlier today I received a message from eBay asking me to recertify my information for INFORM act compliance. It is the first time I received the email. I think I meet the minimum threshold to require the certification which is $5000 sales of new items in 24 month.
I did confirm my information following the link in the email. After that, it has been showing "thanks, we're verifying your updated information". Since it is the first time I am doing this, I am not sure what kind of verification eBay is doing? Call me? Send me letters? Or send funds to verify my bank account? What should I expect to complete this recertifying information requirement?

No, I haven't received anything like that.

They'll ask you to verify your information ever so often to make sure everything is up to date and correct.

Congress passed the INFORM CONSUMER ACT to make online transactions more transparent and to deter the online sale of stolen, counterfeit, or unsafe merchandise. Under the law, “online marketplaces” where “high-volume third party sellers” offer new or unused “consumer products” must collect, verify, and disclose certain information about those sellers. In addition, online marketplaces must offer a clear way for people to report suspicious activity.

The inform consumers act was passed because of the massive amount of stolen goods being sold online when shoplifting was quasi legalized in many places.

I expect you don't have to do anything other than what you already did - review the info displayed, if needed make changes, if not just click the button to confirm everything is accurate. Took all of 5 seconds for me because my info didn't change since last year. Unless eBay finds a problem with their internal review, expect nothing will happen. I don't have any payout hold notifications.

I got one the other day too. Do not expect any reply or notification unless there's an issue. Maybe it's a yearly thing, I know I did one about a year or so ago.
