Anyone having problems with USPS delivery times and tracking updates?

I have "where is my package"  complaints every day.  packages leave my local right on time and then I will end up with a long wait, usually 4 or 5 days, until i get a tracking update that reads "In Transit to Next Facility" and then nothing until the package is delivered. 

I just had a package refused because it took from the jan. 24th to feb 5th to go from one florida post office to the buyers florida address.  

I can go back and look at many  tracking updates  and my packages appear to be at my regional sort facility for 4 to 5 days.  and the tracking up dates are very poor after that.  the problem seems to be at the regional facilities but most of the locals do ok.

 

any one else seeing this problem?

Just received another complaint. This is the first package to leave my regional sort facility quickly in a long time. The package is moving really quick just like you would want  of the United States Post Office. Except for one problem. The package is in Massachusetts, and it's supposed to be going from my local Post office in Florida to the buyers home in Florida!!!!!!!

I have a couple late packages coming from the east coast headed to my in CA.  But I'm giving it an extra week or so.   I know they cannot control the weather.

Don't feel alone on this "you are responsible for the delivery" per Ebay thingy Smiley Wink

 

I've noticed that when I click on "track this item", the page populates showing you where it is, but immediately regresses to the last day. 

 

I just had a media package taking exactly 7 days. The problem is that the USPS, as I have been informed, don't pay attention to Media mail, so scanning is not enforced. So, this package showed tracking until the day before its delivery, on Feb 11. So, it went out on Feb 4 and showed tracking until the 10th. 

 

Meanwhile, you are the subject of conspiracies made up by yourself thinking of the returns, or refunds because "you couldn't deliver on time" Smiley Wink

 

By the way, last year, a package went from San Jose CA to Orange county in 13 days. It took a beautiful vacation visiting Ohio and so on until they read that it was going to Orange county.

 

Never mind the local package using media mail. It took 11 days to be delivered in my own home town. Another tourist package visiting several states of the union. Smiley Very Happy

 

I then didn't have local pick up set up. My bad. Smiley Wink

Yes, I am seeing issues with a few packages both inbound and outbound. I know the northern & Midwest can be weather related. Sounds like you have some incompetents down in the old florida USPS hub 🙂

I opted out of the guaranteed delivery. One was paying for the postage on packages that were delivered late that were not my fault. The other was related to just not liking the pressure to get things out immediately and having to make special runs to the post office. My handling time is suppose to be 3 days. It is set in a template in my listing software. Even then, eBay will tell me to ship a package by the following day. Not sure how they are calculating that. I might need to change it to 1 week handling or something even though I ship out every day.

I presume these are priority, not media or parcel select?

 

I would contact the national complaint office......phone # is on the USPS site and talk to them......have tracking numbers from several different dates (not Christmas) ready for them to check.    People have had good luck getting local PO's "straightened out" by doing this........don't know how much good it will be with a regional center, but no harm in trying...........

MOSTLY first class.  some priority mail.

I cant find a number where i actually poop get to speak to a person.  The only usps number i can find routes me around with a computer and NONE of the options allows me to lodge a complaint about a distribution center. 

 

I work very hard  to ship my packages within 1 business day of payment.  looking at more of my tracking it seems many of the packages are leaving my local and then taking 2 days to get to the sorting facility.  its only a couple hours away. that tells me the packages are arriving and then sitting for a whole day before they are scanned in on the second day.  then sitting there anywhere from 2 to 5 days before leaving.  I have others that don't even have a scan for my regional sort facility and jump from my local to a sort facility in another state.   Packages sent out the same day, arrive at my regional facility at the same day but then a FEW leave there the same day or next day and the others stay many days.

4th complaint for the day.  package arrived at my local on the 8th. left my local on the 8th. arrived orlando distribution on the 9th and didn't leave until the 13th.  

its guaranteed delivery date was the 13th.

 

Ebay needs to get involved.

I'm forced to use this guaranteed delivery date farce to keep my discount (thinking of abandoning the discount because I'm wondering if its worth the stress). I do things exactly as ebay wants.  Through Ebay, ebay sellers have helped keep the usps afloat and we are being screwed by bad service

Last week, there was a message somewhere, maybe Facebook, that at least one East Coast city had no mail delivery for 3 days because of the weather.  To me, that would mean that those sellers who have their packages picked up by their mail carrier would see a delay in pickup.

I feel your pain, but unless I am misinterpreting something here, this is a USPS issue, not an eBay one.

And do you really believe that eBay is the only entity that is keeping the USPS afloat?

There is no requirement to be in the Guaranteed Delivery Program to have TRSPlus listings that qualify for the 10% fee discount.

Ebay is not going to get involved. If it is the Seminole-Orlando sorting facility you are talking about I have been having problems with them for years. I sent you a email if you can provide me what I asked for I can help. You will not find a number on the USPS website that you can call and complain and anything happen. You have to go up the USPS chain of command one person at a time, I have all their phone numbers and email addresses. Currently I am working with the USPS President of Consumer Affairs. She is the #3 person in the USPS nationwide.

 

Here is what Seminole-Orlando sorting facility is doing:

 

All mail from your local to them is delivered to them every night, but they let it sit for a day or 2 before they scan it in.

 

After they get around to processing it, they put it in a bag and that bag into a specific destination bin on the loading dock. 

 

Instead of sending that bag out in the correct truck every night, they wait until that bin is full before they release it to the outgoing trucks. Depending on the destination, it could take days or even weeks before that bin is full. and sent out. They are supposed to send it out every night PERIOD.

This is what they are doing for non-machine sort-able mail. 

 

Contact me with the info I requested and I can help you. the more sellers with these issues I can show the President OF Consumer Affairs the more she can see that there is a problem. Half the problem with the USPS is proving to them they have a problem.

 

PS don't post tracking numbers here it's against the board rules, I found this out the hard way

really?  i'm going to have to look into that.  lately its been even more stressful than ever. 90% of the complaints i get mention the guaranteed delivery.
