Anyone have success with the ebay video upload?

Just curious if anyone has had this video upload work. Just tried it on a listing. The video uploaded but it doesn't show up in the listing.

Re: Anyone have success with the ebay video upload?

Yet it has now been 4 days and never got reviewed. Seems counter productive to waste time on a video that may or may not eventually show up in a listing. I certainly wont bother wasting my time again on another of ebays poorly executed features.

Re: Anyone have success with the ebay video upload?

I am curious as well. A few times i tried uploading a video but the size of the file was incompatible with what was needed. Should be a lot easier to do IMHO.

We have uploaded successfully but it does take several days for Ebay to review it before it goes up

Re: Anyone have success with the ebay video upload?

We used it early June and I was surprised that it actually uploaded and was approved pretty quickly.

You should be able to see it

  https://www.ebay.com/itm/313957679980?hash=item491956036c:g:WksAAOSwwMpiYB~Y

Click on the original listing and it will be where the second picture is. I think it helped with the engine we were selling.

If I remember correctly I did have to mess around and change the format of the video because eBay only accepted certain file types.

I also recall seeing a post a week or two ago about them taking a longer time to approve them now so maybe they are getting over loaded with them?

Not sure if this will help but I did find this info on them.

  • Listings with variations do not support videos

Okay, thanks all. I didn't have any problem uploading it so hopefully it will show up in a few days.

Re: Anyone have success with the ebay video upload?

Yes, I've used it successfully.  It can take a while for it to be "approved" , at which time it will appear in your second Gallery slot.

However, unless they've changed something, you do NOT receive any kind of notice IF it is rejected.  So, if more than a few days have gone by with no video in the second slot, be sure to click "revise listing".  It will tell you whether the video is still "under review" or if it has been rejected.  As far as I know, that's the only place you will find confirmation of a rejection.

Re: Anyone have success with the ebay video upload?

Thank you Cottage books for generously mentioning my rather imperfect video in my listing…

I still like it!

I should have thanked you for generously mentioning my uploaded video of my Marilyn Monroe poster for sale.
It’s such an imperfect video I wonder if it will help me make a sale?

@jewelbiz

Anything for you! Remember Marilyn's unfortunate anniversary of 60 years is coming up August 5, can you add that to the description?

Sad to hear the death of  Ivana Trump, fellow NY.

Just a quick status update. It has now been over 50 hours since item was listed and video still shows "under review".

Not sure why ebay kept pushing so hard to use their video feature but I am certainly not going to bother wasting my time doing any videos in the future.

Is it the weekend there yet, maybe that is slowing it down some?

Re: Anyone have success with the ebay video upload?

Yes.  It’s great for helping to explain flaws.

Here’s a sold listing where I uploaded a video to explain a wobbly frame. Nothing fancy.

There is a delay, so just upload it to a draft, then give it about a day since the videos are  manually approved. You can only upload from the desktop version of eBay.

Has to be reviewed and approved first.
