Anyone else have shipped packages that haven't updated for a week?

I shipped 11 packages last Tuesday and Wednesday. All were sent priority extra insurance if needed. None have been received and they say delayed due to weather problems. I'm in ND and the packages were going to different places. Buyers are wondering where their packages are. Is anyone else having this issue. A week for priority is crazy slow. I know there was problems in TX but these were going all over the country.

File claim for lost package.  If you wait too long you will loose the right to make an Insurance Claim. Do it now and if it shows up in the mean time the claim will be denied or you may have to refund the Insurance Payment.

Yes, Yes, Yes, USPS is not getting any better but much worse. I am opening Missing Mail Cases daily. I am having buyers complain and everyday is stressful. Media Mail actually has been much faster going across the Country and arriving weeks before 1st Class packages and about half of Priority Mail Packages only going a couple of states away from me. No tracking updates either for 10-14 days on most. Its really poor service for inflated prices. And it's only going to get worse when they start shipping ALL 1st class mail on tractor trailers and not using planes anymore.

Most of mine have been flowing well, but I've still had some stuck - it's pretty scattershot.  One thing to note is that post offices in places in the south have been actually closed due to the terrible weather there, and are just moving mail again.  An online friend who lives in the Delta said she wasn't able to ship for days.

I think the problem is much deeper then Trucks and Planes not arriving on schedule.  I think there is enormous amounts of mail stuck in the system and are not being processed.

The Postmaster General himself was on the news today trying to explain what is going on.

Not to worry, he has a 10 year plan that will get everything back on schedule and it involves a 9% increase each year.  Just relax as it will all be fine.

Re: Anyone else have shipped packages that haven't updated for a week?

I had one that didn't update for 3 weeks. No acceptance scan. Nothing. Lost package trace said it hadn't been mailed. Everything else mailed that day was scanned that day and delivered within 8 days. The only scan was the delivered scan. I don't know how it could have missed scans at my PO, at the Bell Gardens distribution center, at the buyer's distribution center, and at the buyer's PO. What are the chances?

I just refunded one angry buyer who has not received his item (2 days late). I have a few more that have been missing since the 13th. These have all been shipped from Bismarck, ND. The weather has been fine here.

I have one bound for Texas that hasn't moved at all in several days. I'm not surprised in the slightest.

Re: Anyone else have shipped packages that haven't updated for a week?

I have found that if you put the tracking number into the USPS website rather than clicking the tracking on Ebay, that many times it will be updated and more accurate. A problem in one part of the country often causes a "bottleneck" effect everywhere else. Roads closed, roads with extremely heavy traffic trying to bring supplies to the effected area, etc...

I don't believe it's a good idea to sell anything on eBay without tracking. Doing so throws away what little protection a seller has left.

My wife takes my items to the PO and I always get an acceptance scan. It doesn't seem wise to not do so.

Re: Anyone else have shipped packages that haven't updated for a week?

The poor USPS service is one thing  and under the present pandemic is almost excusable.

The real issue here is the irresponsible way in which eBay is handling these delays when a buyer starts an "item not delivered" request. If the item is not delivered within the few days allowed by ebay for proof of delivery....THEY REFUND THE BUYER WITH YOUR MONEY !....even why you provide proof it is stuck in transit.

These current delays are not a secret.

As if that isn't bad enough the buyer can then keep the item and ebay is nowhere to be seen why you ask for help.

They figuratively turn their collective backs on the buyer and close the appeals door in your face.

It's infuriating.....and it's wrong!

Even when you can provide tracking proof that the item is in the system, if the allotted time runs out after the request per IND was started, then you loose and ebay as much as says "tough luck"....if they say anything at all. I'm sure their lawyers have advised them accordingly....have you seen the agreement you execute? Lots of room to hide there.

They know there are severe delays thought the system but treat each IND request as if it was rare the only one they have seen in days and therefore there is no need to modify the system to accommodate the current pandemic.

Why should they....it doesn't affect them ! They don't care. It's despicable conduct.

Re: Anyone else have shipped packages that haven't updated for a week?

Ebay spends so much legal energy protecting THEMSELVES from scams and scammers that they have consciously chosen, at a corporate level, to ignore the honest sellers who are caught up in unusual circumstances.

No understanding.....no  empathy.....no help at all.

Just a knee jerk computer generated, algorithmic response that says "you must be trying to rip the buyer off .....so here's your money back buyer ".

Where's the humanity eBay ??

How about think of ALL the members as a community ?

We aren't all thieves and scammers....stop treating us like we are.

Re: Anyone else have shipped packages that haven't updated for a week?

When a buyer starts an "Item not Received Claim" and the seller does nothing, then yes eBay will force a refund.

However if the Seller calls eBay Shipping Department and request an extension, eBay will extend the Shipping Time from 10 to 15 days.  They have been doing this for a while because of the known shipping delays.

eBay has also sent out Announcements about Protecting the Sellers during this time of shipping delays.

Were you not able to get a extension on the Shipping Time and did eBay fail to honor the Seller Protections they are currently offering because of shipping delays?

Any extension to delivery times has been one of the best kept secrets since Scientology discovered  that

L. Ron Hubbard gets sea sick.

There was no offer made by eBay under sellers protection ...silence!

You would think that they would have their computerized customer service send out an automatic notice to sellers who are faced with an "item not received" claim.

I would like to see what seller protection they are currently offering because they sure didn't offer this seller anything.

Re: Anyone else have shipped packages that haven't updated for a week?

I just read ebay's short policy change statement and it puts great importance on not affecting the sellers performance standard and making sure they get credit for shipping "ontime", as if that mattered when they are about to steal back your money.

They only add 3 extra days past the "expected" delivery date before they "step in" (a euphemism for take your money).

I have had a parcel that was 3 weeks past the expected delivery date so that change is useless.

What about something more to the point and meaningful like...when the item is delivered refund the seller and take it back from the buyer...OR...block that amount in the buyer account until the item is returned to the seller if the buyer doesn't want it anymore.

THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL.....something that actually address the problem.

Dare I say even common sense instead of just leaving the seller out in the cold.

Well, there is always your "credit for selling" to keep you warm I suppose.
