I've been selling on multiple different platforms for years, and what I have noticed over the years that a significant amount of people who have scammed me, or have tried to, were located in California. It doesn't matter if it's on ebay, or amazon, or anywhere else. Anyone else notice that, or just me?

I hadn't noticed that. Thankfully I do not encounter many scammers... I don't think any of the very few I have encountered were located in California (CA).

Not me.

with over 12% of the US population living inn California, I guess that would make sense statistically. personally I've only dealt with a couple of scammers, but as I recall both were using Florida addresses

I was only scammed once, and that was early in my selling career, with a buyer from Russia.

Well, with California having the largest population of the 50, it wouldn't be surprising that there might be more scammers in California. Not too sure that the people in one state are any more honest or dishonest than any other.

Yes, I have had a couple of instances lately where a low to zero FD buyer will pay via Paypal with having no address on file with Paypal. By doing this the seller is not covered per Paypal rules. I declined the payments each time as I wondered why the buyers had sent manually an address for me to mail their expensive items to. I only caught this scan after looking at their Paypal payment to confirm the address they manually sent me. I didn't even know you could open a Paypal account without providing an address. I guess Paypal doesn't care if a seller gets ripped off. They simply quote their rules. Beware of this scam.

Everytime. Biggest scammers in California

My scammers all seem to live in North Dakota.

South Dakota for me..... jk
If I had to pick a location or two, Delaware comes to mind and I have cancelled orders going to Miami/Doral in the past after vetting the actual buyers. There are times when they just flat out, out themselves.
I do realize these more than questionable buyers were using FF.

It certainly depends on what you sell, but here, none from CA.

Yes, I keep getting customers from California who want full refunds for completely garbage reasons. "The box is slightly worn" on a BRAND NEW ITEM. Another one "the item is arriving one day late". It's disgusting, it isnt all Californians, but it's always California.
