Anyone else having this problem? My sales completely died at the end of the weekend and haven’t picked up at all. My views are much lower and I’m getting no response on my offers which is unusual anyone know what’s up?

I’ve been selling on eBay for over 23 years. I’ve never seen it like this before, they keep changing things and making it worse not better. The whole promote it and boost your auction is a scam which hurts everyone that doesn’t use it. It should not even exist.

Changes on the site has nothing to do with this. But the price of gas and groceries sure do.

Only having a handful of “views” not bids or watchers “VIEWS” on a dozen or so auctions that are listed over and over has nothing to do with gas and grocery prices. The people that don’t go all in on the promoting your auction - boost your item are getting screwed.

Sales on eBay continue to drop EVEN MORE than eBay wants to tell their investors.
The first SALES DROP was when eBay took over the paying system verses PayPal handling it.
Second, SALES DROP was the requirement to collect of State Sale Taxes, where eBay decided to tack a minimum of a 10% Fee for SELLERS, based on the Sales TAX they collect from Buyer. This fee is added to the FINAL fee the SELLER MUST PAY. This was the NAIL in the Coffin on Sales.
Many Sellers left eBay and started selling on other sites.
Thirdly, was US inflation rate of 9-10% in June and July 2022. This squeezed Buyers out. People found CHEAPER ways to buy items WITHOUT PAYING STATE TAXES and those nasty and unjust additional EBAY FEES.
So what next? Buyers continue to cut back wasting money on eBay. They will no longer buy until they see some stability in the US economy or they get a 10% to 20% salary increase, which likely will not happen for 99% of eBay Buyers and Sellers.
The typical eBay user has seen their Buying and Selling power DEGREASE by 10-20 %.
So eBay will continue to LOSE SELLERS and LOSE BUYERS.

It does if the buyers simply can't afford to purchase right now. It all takes money.
You chose to promote your listings or not to promote your listings. That is completely within your control.

Ebay reports these numbers to shareholders and the public for that matter every 90 days. The financial number for Ebay are not held secret. They can't, they are a publicly held corporation and therefore has to publish their financial statements every quarter.
Do you have any information / links you can provide that support the numbers you are quoting here. I for one would like to read more about them.

Our site experienced slowing sales this year as well. The result was a series of warnings from ebay advising that our account may be terminated. To prove they were serious they increased the fee % and tacked on a penalty %. It is difficult to believe the stock has generally performed well. Perhaps it is the ever increasing charges to sellers keeping them profitable?

The penalty fees only happen when your stats have reached the level where it is a problem per the Ebay rules. It isn't subjective, it is based on actual facts of a transaction.
If you got in trouble with defects on your Dashboard, then your penalty fee was 5%. If it was due to the Service Metrics, the penalty fee is 6%.
You should know what area you got in trouble in. It is important info you need to have in order to assist you in trying to work out of the penalty phase and get your account healthy again.
So what caused the problem for you? Are you still having penalty fees charged?

Sales volume. We have retired and are selling the remaining inventory from our wholesale golf distribution business. Items that sold well a year and more ago are experiencing very low sales. eBay is making more on some products than we do.

This isn't a new thing. Customers needs or desire change with time too. What was hot a year ago is no longer a hot item. Happens all the time in all kinds of categories.
I don't think your measurement should be how much you make verse Ebay. As long as you make money the who cares. Besides you have no idea of what Ebay's Cost of Sales is in the first place to enable you to figure out what they made. To assume they have no cost of sale would be completely wrong.

Almost no sales for a month. Been selling for 17 years. Never seen anything like this. I may just donate my storage lockers and be done with it. Economy isn't going to pick up anytime soon. And, people selling toilet paper and everyday necessities have flooded the categories.

40 + years in wholesale golf distribution to the US and several foreign countries taught me quite a bit about the cost of doing business. You may be certain that ebay is doing very well.
2021 Net Income (profit) was $13.608B (that's BILLION).

I guess they need to keep the stock price and management bonuses up. They only made a profit in excess of $13 Billion last year. Brought a tear to my eye.
