Anyone else experiencing a huge drop off in sales and views?

Anyone else having this problem? My sales completely died at the end of the weekend and haven’t picked up at all. My views are much lower and I’m getting no response on my offers which is unusual anyone know what’s up?

even walmart is complaining about how far off/slow the clothing line has gotten for them during the inflation and that is a double edge sword for them seeing that was their most profitable line of products.

I was using Fed Ex Express 2 Day for at least a year when things were awful with the USPS during the pandemic height. I factored in at least 20 bucks into the pricing because even with the ebay discount Fed Ex has gone up terrible this year.  Some shipment come in at about 14 to 15 dollars but many are now coming in at 20 buck plus. So. We started to change all the listings back to USPS Priority Mail and crossing our fingers that they have it totally together right now. I had extremely happy buyers getting their stuff in no more than 3 days flat using Fed Ex, now it is just not cost effective with slow sales.

@mr.beanies

To be a follower is a CHOICE and has absolutely NOTHING to do with slavery.  Those people that experienced actual Slavery would be very offended by your comparison.

This country is in a Recession right now - I know the Government says a Recession is coming, but it is here right now.   Just looking on line, I have never seen so many campers up for sale and furniture (that cost a fortune back in the day).  When Groceries and gas is so expensive, people are thinking twice about buying that item on Ebay.  No extra money coming in and essentials going up almost 20%.

In response to the first post:  YES.

Not only have sales dropped off but also "hits" or views (supposedly counted differently by ebay now??).  I could get into conspiracy theories as to why this is happening (I also get very few usable web search results these days).  People no doubt are hurting thanks to the economy BUT where I live people SEEM to have more money than ever (Boston area).

If we go to a recession, the bad news is that the real estate market is going to be the first to experience major problems. All these people who paid up to 40 percent higher on these  houses are worth are going to see some steep declines in the valuation of their property just like when the last recession hit. Many strapped down with high mortgage payments may default. Retails sales go down on expensive goods when people start looking for more bargain brands. Car industry goes down the tubes for the most part as well, and the hospitality industry and airlines because people cannot afford to travel as much, and with Gas up forget it driving to a far away place. Be prepared for the recession it is probably coming. Good news is that typically most of these last about 11 to 12 months. So plan for how you are going to weather this for at least 1 year.

Yeah we live in St George, Utah, plenty of wealthy people here with homes here mainly in the 700.000 to 3 mil range. They do not hurt during these times. They move they cash around and do fine.

Yes, but I also read that this recession will be different than the dot.com bust, and the real estate bust because in general people are not in that much debt as these other times. That is what Morgan Stanley said recently. This is more of a inflation caused recession becuase of the influx of money people had with stimulus checks, higher pay for jobs during the pandemic and A LOT OFF AVAIL CASH TO SPEND.

not positive which bank but I am thinking it was BofA that estimated a few months ago that 25% of their truck and sport car loans are going to end in default.  Then other banks came on board and mentioned they will see an increase of defaults also but they were predicting more like only 10-15%.

I saw 1 analyst online this morning saying oil could reach over $300 a barrel and gas at the station could reach $15 a gallon.

again online about 2 weeks ago can't remember who but they said that 22% of people that get paid hourly had to get payday loans to afford gas to get to work. this tells me quite a few of the hourly paid workers are living paycheck to paycheck.  This wasn't posted on just a chatter board but front page by those supposed expert group of people, so take it however you take those people's advise.

I live in the country and people have large lots here and mow quite a bit. not sure the true  reason but like me so many are just mowing around close to their house this year and not all their acreage.  Not sure if it is the gas prices or if they  all have a broken down lawn mowers and having a hard time getting parts.

I will admit, I use to buy here quite a bit but I haven't even looked at listings this year. I only been buying basicly food and essentials.  People around here thought I was crazy cutting back as early as I did but now a few of my friends wish they cut back sooner.  Seems some thought this was just a bubble for a few weeks but are realizing it is going to last longer than they expected.

I am still playing/ building in my toybox/shop but I have been working  putting things together with what I mainly have here. trying not to spend too much money on toys until we see a little light at the tunnel end. Then what I have left over I can spend then like crazy. Just want to make sure I make it.

The way the general public has been, I have no desire to hang out with them anyways. best thing I did was quit working at the store couple of months ago.

don't get me wrong with my last post above, there are some people with money and they are still spending like crazy.  but then you have the other side trying to conserve.  so many things are mixed up we don't know which way to go but took the safe route and laying low ourselves.

I am not looking at things here but I still been following a few construction/farming equipment auctions cross country.   for a while the used equipment was going crazy with their prices but then new is really nuts and you get all this electronic computerized crap plus the emission that keeps performance down. so people were paying up for used older stuff that you can actually fix yourself.

then the big gas and diesel hike came on now you can buy stuff pretty cheap but the problem now is getting things shipped(freighted) to you.  Cost more to ship then it cost for the machine.  had to talk my buddy out of buying another combine in Tx. Went dirt cheap but after you pay 3 times more to have it hauled back, you will be upside down. he still has 1 sitting in Wi. to get moved.

but you know what is moving at these auctions now?  Big campers, man they are bringing good money.  pretty bad when toys are bringing good outragious prices but stuff you make money with is going backwards lately.

another friend has a used car lot and he cannot understand the other dealers at the dealer only auctions.  they are paying so much over book value to get cars. even brand new cars are showing up that never happened years before and they are going $5000-$15,000 over suggested market value and now they need to sell them over that to make a profit.  He has to over pay to get cars to resell but he is trying to play it safe by not overstocking his fleet because he knows when it breaks these lots will be sitting with cars they will need to sell for a loss to move them out but for now he needs inventory.  people are still buying it seems.

Some people still have money.

eventually some day it will all Bleep break loose and there will be major deals on foreclosed equipment and toys then it will actually be time to buy goodies then.  but for now just enjoy your close friends having a cookout/get together in your own backyards.

too many things are overpriced on ebay. bigtime. i went to buy something as simple as plastic bed sheet clips. literally 3 times the price of amazon for the lowest price on ebay. and it's not just this. why on earth would anyone buy from ebay anymore? do you think customers looking to buy 2nd hand are that dumb? thats why sales are low. its cheaper to buy new with warranty and get it the next day vs waiting a week or two for the ebay mystery box that hopefully has the item you ordered and not broken junk.

We have four sales in 9 days.  Sales are way off.  Ebay is becoming a dinosaur.
