Anyone Using Promoted Stores Question

I launched my first Promoted Stores campaign this morning after the rollout of the new Advertising page in Seller Hub.

My question is regarding the Status button. Although it appears to be active, it is gray instead of the normal blue I am used to seeing for active campaigns. I went back and checked the setup and it looks good, as far as I can tell the campaign is active. Does the button on your active Promote Store campaign look like this?

Update:

Well, I ended the campaign. It did not generate any impressions or clicks, so I am guessing I did not have it set up correctly.

Re: Anyone Using Promoted Stores Question

I've noticed with Offsite Ads campaigns, it can take days for it to actually start. eBay has become like an old Atari game with these gimmicks. If only they could go back to just displaying what people list, fairly.

@the-hook-and-the-loop

Thanks, I did not know it could take days to start.

This was the first time I tried the Promoted Store with a coupon code. I have used the Promoted Store campaign with a category selection in the past and those campaigns started showing impressions right away and the clicks soon followed.

It is my understanding that "Promoted Stores" was a PayPerClick (cost per click) activity.  If you got any clicks before you turned it off, you will still likely get the bill.   I am curious if they told you how much each click was going to cost so you could adjust your daily budget accordingly?

Too bad if you don't use up your daily budget you can't add what is left over to the 'next day'.

Do report back if you use it and you see an increase in SALES.

Re: Anyone Using Promoted Stores Question

It is PPC and you have the ability to control the bids.

Typically when you don't get clicks with PPC it's because the bids are too low.

Unlike with offsite ads that doesn't allow adjusting bids and only allows daily budget the OP may need to increase their bids.

Thank you both for checking. Yes, I can see that my coupon code is working. I am also trying to set up a Promoted Store Ad Campaign, which is an entirely different thing. I am trying to get an ad like the screenshot below.

I launched a new campaign early this morning. I set the bids to the suggested rate. Yes, I can see how much each click will cost based on keyword selections.

Re: Anyone Using Promoted Stores Question

If you have a lot of competition on the high end of the suggested then yours won't show up.

You can try a few of your keywords and bump up their bids and monitor if you start seeing increased activity.

But if you are being out bid you won't ever show up.

I started over with a new campaign this morning. I used the suggested bid amounts and set the daily budget to $10.00.

Thank you! I will play around with the bids and keyword selections and see what happens.

Re: Anyone Using Promoted Stores Question

Update:

I ended the campaign today. 0 impressions + 0 clicks = 0.00 sales.

Over the course of the past few days, I increased my daily ad spend, removed some keywords, and adjusted bid amounts upwards substantially. Nothing changed.

Conclusion: This is not an advertising method for my items.
