In light of what I've sold (or not sold) these past 3 - 4 weeks, I need to ask you all, "Is this still a decent platform to sell sports cards and other collectibles?" No matter what I try, my business keeps getting slower and slower. Now I'm hesitant to list any new items because the free (well not free) listings I get with my basic store are all needed to relist items that aren't moving. I check competitive prices and offer the lowest available price on most things, have good pictures, ship out quickly and have great reviews from buyers. Is it the taxes that most have to pay now (even on shipping costs), the search engine, or what??? Please advise. I have both vintage and current cards, autographed cards and pics, historic sports magazines . . . but it's almost dead now. Help ebay!

No you aren't the only one. In checking out this site you will see many are having the same problem. My sales have dropped drastically starting in latter part of Oct. up to now in comparison to checking my sales at this time from last year. I had a basic store and when that subscription ended Dec. 31st I ended it and went to a starter store paying the monthly fee. I also have been ending my good til cancelled listings before they end as that hasn't been working all that well lately either as it used to even using the campaigns. Just not making the money as I used to and the views are a lot less than they used to be also even with having 85 followers. I certainly hope things turn around. Some say that there is a problem in the search. Whatever it is I hope it gets fixed. I sell small art work and mostly ACEO's so like you I'm in the collectible catagory.

My sales were pretty good during the holiday season but things have slowed down now . It's like this every year though so it's to be expected . BTW ,, just curious if you have a baseball card of Donny Hill ? He played for the Oakland athletics and the New York yankees back in the 80's . He's my cousin but I've lost track of him in the last few years . Tulips

You are not alone. I have a store and my sales are down 55% since last October. My items don't show up in the search anymore and I pay to promote my items. I list auctions but when I go to check them now the next day they are not there. My business is in the gutter. Worst I've seen it in five years. They definitely have some issues someplace. I will be closing my store and moving on most likely soon.

Sorry it is such a struggle for you, as well. I (try to) sell a lot of collectibles & a variety of items. Sales are lousy! Even have a listing with almost 2900 views & still no sale! ??? It did sell one time but, turned out to be NPB. I think I post some unique items that have 0 competition yet, they sit here for months. 2019 were an immense disappointment. Going to spread my wings a lot more & try to rely on other resources for income. Happy New Year! 🙂

Thank you all for some encouragement. At least I know it's not just me and my sales efforts/ways.
I wish there was another platform for us, that worked well.

With the exception of the rare ones from the 70's or older, sports cards have been a dying breed for years now. So to answer your question, no, you are not the only one. Even the rare ones, if over-priced, they will not sell. Don't just check prices of what others are asking, but instead check prices in which buyers are wiling to pay.

Anyone who has an item listed with 2900 views and not a single buyer you should really look very close at what you are doing.

If you’re not already familiar with the site. You can try blowoutforums website for sports cards. People now a days are most interested in prospect cards in baseball, not to mention graded vintage and current, though there is a major scandal involving certain grading company’s involving trimming and favorable grading. Rare basketball inserts and key rookies/autos seem to do very well.

Chugging along. If I list, I sell. For me consistency is key.

You have all heard the story about the Titanic, you know the big sinking ship this is its sister ship RMS eBay but sinking much faster they need to plug the hole and do it quickly before all the sellers jump ship.
