I do have a few unique clothing pieces to list, just haven't gotten around to them yet, but this may make me get it done. 🤣

@gloryglorygifts Anna Packer's session centered around vintage and used type of stuff....Anna's not a boomer, but she does like older stuff. I think it was called something like The Point of More Return...

Boomers aren't the only ones selling vintage, though. If given the choice I want to hear from younger presenters.

@chapeau-noir Agree. A lot of younger people are selling vintage, and they tend to have a better handle on what other young people are searching for in vintage. One of the seller who was interviewed in one of the segments is this gal who has a B&M vintage clothing shop in West Chester PA:

@chapeau-noir I agree and I thought the Gen Z "consumer" panel was actually a real missed opportunity.
I would have loved to see a wider variety of younger perspectives represented rather than just a group of eBay employees who happen to be Gen Z.

@gloryglorygifts wrote:It will be interesting to see how sellers use the AI to sell their products. I can't find any videos about it on the ebay open youtube, but it does sound like a game changer. At least you will have fun with it! Looking forward to seeing some of your creations on here maybe?
I don't see any categories that are even remotely related to my biz, but thankfully there are other avenues I can refer to. Even terepeak is no use to me. I saw a few mention the trading cards. You're right tho. Not many vintage presenters nor items talked about. They need to diversify next year!
@gloryglorygifts the parts about AI generated backgrounds or virtual models for clothing where just short comments about things eBay is working on for some unspecified time in the future, so unfortunately there weren't any demos or real detailed info about them.
They did play a video of the AI Magic Listing tool, but it was the same mock up promotional video they released a couple weeks ago - you can find it in this thread if you haven't seen it already.

I watched her video last week. It's what every ebayer hopes to achieve. She started with a B&M before she started on ebay but it's still nice to see someone that has really been successful on here. Thanks for the link!

She's got a nice store. She's also in an area which is rich for vintage and if her banner is a photo of her B&M shop, she's doing an excellent job of sourcing and presenting.

I'm not the only person to say this: the best thing about ebay open (and multiply that by 10 for an actual ebay Live) is getting to talk to other sellers, learn about how they do things etc. If you keep an open mind, you can learn things from a lot of different sellers, even if what they sell is very different from what you sell. It's all about figuring out how apply it to your own business.

Totally agree. Networking is an excellent way to learn and grow. I have my own group of friends that sell so many diverse things and I've learned quite a lot from them, especially the younger ones, about social media. That has been extremely valuable to me since I stopped doing local venues years ago and went solely the ecommerce route, both here and elsewhere.
That is great advice for any seller. Thanks.

Agreed. I was at the in-person eBay Open preview in Chicago, and although I'm not one of those people who can work a room, I surprised myself at how many spontaneous conversations I got into with other sellers, regardless of whether our selling areas of interest had anything in common. I also had some possibly useful conversations with upper-level eBay people about certain bugs that were long overdue for fixing.
BTW, for anyone else who was also attending one of the live previews: the place was swarming with photographers taking pictures of everything and everyone. Are any of those photos going to be available to us on-line? If so, where? I have an Instagram account, but some poking around there did not turn up anything resembling the event photos.
