Any plans for 2025?

A local restaurant ---there aren't too many in my area---just announced on Facebook four or five changes coming in 2025. Most were ignored in the comments section except: all day breakfast. Around here, that is a wish come true for a lot of people (and I include myself when saying that) LOL

So, for 2025, do you have any exciting "all day breakfast" type plans for your business?  Or even smaller plans?

(question is for your business, whether on ebay or other venues)

Re: Any plans for 2025?

I have been wondering as well what others are planning for 2025 on their selling platforms, I found 2024 was hard to navigate selling patterns & expect 2025 to be even harder, I will just continue to refresh older listings with new photos & titles & bring in some new inventory, but i will not go crazy acquiring new inventory, 2025 could possibly be very risky.

Re: Any plans for 2025?

I'm now 77 and ,in spite of being in really good health, I'm finding that my body is really slowing down.  I expected that but still don't like it 😔  I'm going to cut back on sourcing and probably just go to community sales right around me. I have a lot of inventory plus I sell books for another person who still has thousands to go through.  I have a large garden which needs tending plus I haven't read a book in awhile which I'd like to get back to. My only concern is that all of my profits go to church pantries or folks in my community who need a little help.  I feel a great deal of concern for them if my sales go down bc I've cut back.

@flp

I can relate. When you keep your charity local and personal you feel that kind of personal responsibility you feel for your family.

During the pandemic lockdowns many of the locally supported charities with similar aims and supporters were shut down, never to reopen. It seems that people of our age could not muster the energy it took to start them up again.

Re: Any plans for 2025?

We had stopped selling at the local Flea Market during the pandemic but had discussed my hubs starting it again.  We had thousands of things left to sell.  The problem is that in the meantime I got quite ill and almost kicked the proverbial bucket last June.  Got so bad we even filled out a will and had it witnessed.  It took a week but I have recovered enough to totter around the house and enjoy food, and a few crafts.  I still collect ACEO's and enjoy them.  But I can't sit at a Flea all weekend, and hubs doesn't want to be gone for three days a month.

So it looks like our selling days are really over.  I'll be sorting through our thousands of books to give a lot away.  I don't know what to do with all the vinyl, or fabric, or beads and buttons.  Really good stuff too.  A huge American Art Pottery collection.  China that is over a hundred years old or more and VERY rare.  It was all fun to collect but none of the kids really want anything but the silver and the 'good' jewelry.

I've had a couple of brick and mortar shops too and that was great fun.  Too old now.  The will is still strong but the old bod is weak.

Hoping everyone has a great New Year!

Re: Any plans for 2025?

What to do in 2025?

I have written my things to do list for 2025.

Some things have been on my things to do list for 5 years because I have been working more and haven't been able to do things for me.

I had new client's that wanted gardening done and my cleaning client's keep changing their dates, and at the farm, I have a lot of barns to get cleaned up and then to clean up brush piles and underbrush.

The items I sell are organized.

*  All the clothing are in banana boxes, with labels : tops 1, tops 2 etc and they are in ABC order.

*  Consolidated boxes contain items that I have so much of with a numbering systems ( buttons, beads, Fabric, etc )

*  Household items are packed in their shipping boxes and on shelves in ABC order.

*  I have tons of totes and barrels with clothing that I haven't gone through. Some are marked that pictures have been taken. ( need calm days to take pictures outside - more windy days than calm)

*  I have finally started to clean some of the house out of old paperwork. ( finally burned income taxes from 1974 - 2014 ) Burning old manual and such. Need to go through some other items to either donate or when I have a barn sale.

Suppose to be retired.  Pppffffttt!  not.

I still work and try to keep myself out of trouble.

I planned on starting to dismantle a section of another garden.

Eventually, I would like to eliminate all my gardens before my end.

I need to get the garage doors repaired and a different style when I can get the boards loaded on the truck from the farm stuff.

I still have a plumbing project and I haven't sweated pipes for over 20 years and hopefully I still can do it.

I'm living in two places at once at this point and plans for 2025 are opaque. Part depends on how fast the US Treasury is sacked, and part depends on my courage.

Re: Any plans for 2025?

Weaning off of Ebay. We are looking to most likely move back to NorCal in 2025 to help my in-laws. My wife and I started breeding our poodles 1 1/2 years ago and it has been very rewarding doing that. That may be controversial to some people, but we love our poodle kids and keep in touch with the families

Re: Any plans for 2025?

DH has realized that it is important to get his stuff sold after a lot of nagging from DD and my own demands to have my dining room table back.
We're taking in one bankers box at a time. Cleared about a dozen and have only 100 to go.

When you consider how many stamps you can get in a bankers box....

Added a high level hobby site to our venues, only about one in 10 sales go there, but it's all flat fee on sales whether $10 or $1000.

Re: Any plans for 2025?

Last year was my year of change, both personally and professionally. We gutted my house, which housed my business too, and made it a two family with limited space for work. My stores were downsized considerably and we were closed more than we were open. Even though I was surrounded by construction and guys for over six months, I truly missed running my businesses. So, this year, I am thrilled to be back on stable ground again and looking forward to getting the ebay store back to full capacity. I love what I do. I love my customers. I love my products. I'm going to keep on doing what I do until I can't physically and mentally do it anymore. 67 next month and that's too young to retire.

Re: Any plans for 2025?

I don't, I sell them separate.  I use square shipping tubes for the rods, they do make wider tubes but don't think there would be enough padding to protect the reel so I don't offer it. UPS is cheaper up to 48", over 48" USPS is cheaper but does insurance doesn't cover shipping cost if broken.

Re: Any plans for 2025?

2025:  List every thing here I can, and be done with it.

Except, that’s my goal every year.

If I would stop acquiring new inventory,  I could have accomplished that goal, but, I have really slowed my roll, to nearly stopped.  I ‘should’ slow it to posting a new item only 1x a week.

I ‘should’ try a weekly auction.  I ‘should’ try a weekly ‘$10. Tuesday’ on my other platform,

I ‘should’ figure out how to print my own shipping labels and spend less time schlepping to the post office across town.

Having said that, I have spent a LOT of time trying to improve my listings with videos and more pictures.
