phishing
phish·ing
/ˈfiSHiNG/noun
the fraudulent practice of sending emails purporting to be from reputable companies or with a reputable motive in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers.
There was nothing reputable about the original PM and it only asked for romance not a credit card, so I guess it technically wasn't phishing.

Yes, but one can lead to another.

Yes, that's how phishing starts.
They can't start off by directly saying, Hi.. give me your bank info and SSN.
They start like this and see who bites.

If I get one I'm not reading it.
My wife is really strict, and does not allow me to date.
Gee and I thought I had a rough life 🙂 Tulips

It's all part of the game.

I was thinking 'catfishing ' too.
The weird thing is that whoever is sending that request doesn't know I am a male.
Not that there's anything wrong with that. Love is love!
