Second straight weekend without a sale on this increasingly pathetic site! Why do I keep adding listings?? Should just work on other ways to sell instead of trying to make any decent income here. Beyond disappointed with this "household name" website. The WORST summer I've seen on here! I'm not here just to complain for myself. I know tons of other sellers are fed up, too and, need to vent. Good luck to all us! 🙂

I had no sales, no interest for over two weeks. I was ready to just take a couple break. And then all of the sudden I have four packages going out tomorrow plus one more waiting payment.

I guess my number was finally picked.

Besides folks going on vacation, I believe it is the cost of shipping that turns off buyers. They want stuff dirt cheap WITH free shipping. I'm sorry, but you can't sell a $30 widget and get the buyer to pay $40 in shipping, even if the post office/UPS/FEDEX charges you more than the $40 to ship it. All of these shipping companies are charging you a lot more this year to make up for their losses incurred with the contracts they signed with AZN and overseas suppliers.

Stuff that you can package in a small or medium USPS box sells, the big stuff doesn't. At least, that's how my year has gone.

Has nothing to do with shipping cost; haven’t increased mine for years, use set shipping or free shipping. Had two sets of nine days of zero sales, then $7.95 minus the fees then back to zero. Plenty of listings in all kinds of categories, about 400 altogether. Never seen anything like that until July.

Using promoted listing at 1% has been helping my sales a bit.

Over a month ago we marked everything down many items below cost with free shipping

We have done comparisons we are the lowest price on the internet

I want to add more listings but why ?

The other site has issues too we closed that store too many returns

The clothing place has a few sales no returns

How can we go from several thousand per month to 493.00 in 60 days

first answer that comes to mind? you can do that by selling on the "new" ebay! 😄 (sorry i can't help it ... it's either laugh or cry here now :'(

Yeah it sucks when the carrier makes more from a sale than the seller does.

Reality is the leading cause of stress.

Yep pretty pathetic . One sale all weekend . I used to have anywhere from 3, 4, 5 packages going out every Monday morning but seems that's all over with now. I'm starting to believe in the theory that our watchers aren't real ,, that they are actually bots giving us false hope so we don't do anything drastic ,, like say quit . Well,, I'm about out of hope , real or false because it's costing me money to stay here with it this way. Only one suggestion I can come up with is for EVERYONE to please use the '' Tell us what you think '' link at the top right of the summary page . Let the execs know that we are not happy with the status quo and urge them to invest in more advertising . Other selling venues are leaving e bay in the dust because they DO understand how important advertising is. Buyers are simply going elsewhere , it's that simple . IMO Tulips

I haven't either . I sell usually just small lightweight items . I either charge a very small fee or nothing at all. Tulips

It's been about a month since I started doing the 1% promotion on all my listings. In that time 17 out of 79 of my sales came from promoted listings and only cost me an additional $3.39 in fees. So that's been about an extra $339 in sales. To me it's been worth it. I do think its a money grab on ebay's part. Especially after listing to the the last earnings call.
