Just saw this...Looks like it is only on the AU site. I'm sure it will make it to the US site after they are done testing it there. Wow.

Amazon's net income in Q1 2018 was $1.62 billion, but eBay's was not too shabby at $548 million.
So I think eBay has clearly demonstrated there is plenty of value in their "copy".
And plenty of people seem to be using that copy - you still have listings here, after all!
Let me add another fruit to the apples and oranges comparison. JP Morgan Chase had net income in Q1 of $8.7B. They took the one-time loss in Q4 2017. Rooty. Tooty.

True @paudoh-16, but the "Plus" option on ebay.au is a subscription program similar to Amazon Prime for buyers.
Etsy's "Plus" subscription service is another level of features/perks available only to sellers. See: https://www.etsy.com/seller-news/2018-june-update/packages?ref=etsy-plus_launch_pl_0718f

The literature states: With rates as low as $5.74** for pick, pack and delivery, cross-town (same city) service and $6.83** for interstate service, you have access to the best prices to fulfil your eBay orders in Australia!
I'm not sure how that price relates to US dollars.
$5.74 in Australian Dollar = $4.24 USD
$6.83 in Australian Dollar = $5.04 USD

I think that rate was for 600g which shows to be equal to 1.32 pounds. That is cheaper than we are paying here in the US. Does any know if the postage Australia to Austrualia usually cheaper than we pay for domestic in the US?

I think most of Amazon profit is from web hosting, not retailing. They must be price gouging on that.
And without the little stock market game, they would be nothing.
