Another EBAY Decision in favor of Buyer who admit to buying the wrong ITEM

Today Ebay allowed a Buyer to Return an Item that they purchased by mistake and charged our account for the shipping..

When is Ebay going to STOP this  NONSENSE that Sellers have to be the ones to get screwed.

So we called them  to inquire about there decision to allow this sham to keep on going, I got Justin on the phone who will not give his full name and sadly he was unhelpful because he kept reading from an Ebay Chart in front of him and insisted that we the DUMB ASS Sellers to stay DUMD and keep getting screwed by Ebay policies.

So I decided to Ask This JUSTIN guy who was from a higher management Level with Ebay. I asked him " DO YOU SELL ON EBAY"  just get his opinion from a personal view about our case, JUSTIN's answer was "NO SIR". OK, I asked him " DO YOU BUY ON EBAY" also to get his personal opinion regarding our case,  to my surprise he  answered " NO SIR"....... WOW, really this a person who is on a management LEVEL with Ebay but refuses to buy or sell on their market place......

HMMMM  DO YOU SELLERS KNOW WHY?

Because he works for Ebay  and knows that their policies are Terrible and are made to be always in Ebay's Favor no matter what, that is why he refuses to use their market place.

Sure this will not even have Ebay change their policies, but wanted some sellers to feel that they are not the only ones getting screwed but most of are.

Im confused, if the buyer bought the item by mistake, that is a remorse return, and you shouldnt have had to pay for return shipping. What kind of case did he open? And I wouldnt put too much stock in what a csr told me about buying or selling here..kind of personal questions that had nothing to do with your complaint.

What was the reason buyer chose in the return request, that determines who pays return shipping?

This is a user to user board not eBay employees.

opened a case with defective does not work....but their comment in the case was "wrong board for their TV"....but Ebay claims that the way case was opened as defective is what they look at.

This is because all your items are 'no return' so buyers can 'force' a return by stating 'not as described' 'doesn't work' etc. With your category, mix of new and used items, and the amount you sell- allow returns. $50 for $2000 in sales will not hurt you- or figure your returns after 3 months, raise pricing to cover those that are now 'not resellable' accordingly. This type forced you to pay for shipping. You will find more customers 'pay' to return if returns are available.

If most items are already used, it doesn't fit (this will come with the territory for what you sell- I sell automotive, no different- it's 'trial and error' and sellers get to pay)- but in this day and age, you have to accept returns to be competitive and appear more transparent and honest.

You can resell- the customer, who's stuck with something that doesn't work, and is not a 'seller' for the most part, cannot or does not want to 'get into' selling just to unload something they purchased that does not work.

I get your frustrations, this kind of stuff seriously angers me too. What you should do is report the buyer from the drop down menu on your sold page, explain what happened, then call ebay and demand a credit for the costs of the return shipping.

Regardless of what the ebay rep told you, buyers are not allowed to lie about the reasons for their returns. I would call and get a different rep.

As for the profanity and over the top comments you made, people can only take so much. Its not cheap to ship the types of items you sell, you have every right to be angry, but you should still try and keep your composure anyway.
