Today I am unable to revise a price in one of my listings. Am getting a message that the price cannot be updated because it is a part of a sale. What sale? There is no sale in my store at all. Will try to post a screenshot. am unable to change the price

A SALE. Have you never heard of a store having a SALE? Please.

It was not a markdown situation.
Everybody keeps on assuming whatever. There was NO SALE, period

Again, it was not a sale. Sale means only one thing. Markdown aka temporary discount is not a sale. PERIOD

Anyone knows how to stop this thread and archive? There were no sales, period. eBay had a glitch I guess. Or it was a ploy by eBay to get me to delist-relist.
PLEASE STOP MAKING COMMENTS THAT MAKE NO SENSE

In this thread, click on view listings under your name. If you look at your first listing it has a price listed then directly under that it says ‘was $xx. Xx% off. That means that the item has been put on sale. All of your items look like that. That’s why you can’t revise the price. For example, your Zac and Rachel skirt is $11.99. Under that it shows that it was $19.98 40% off. If you had just changed /revised the price, the former price would not be shown. It also means that the current price is a temporary sale price.

If you aren't running a sale on your items, someone else is. I looked and everything you have listed is marked down by 20%, 33%, 50% or some percentage.

Wait a minute, are you just using different terminology for the same thing? You are calling it markdown/temporary discount instead of a sale as in being on sale? That's fine, but it's the same thing. That's why you got the warning.

Actually, if you used Markdown Manager, eBay treats that as a sale.

You're the only one here subscribing to a limited definition of the word sale.
Go to this page to generate a markdown:
https://www.ebay.com/sh/mkt/promotionmanager/dashboard
What does eBay call it? Answer: 'sale event + markdown'
How does the Oxford English Dictionary define it?
sale
/sāl/
noun
1. the exchange of a commodity for money; the action of selling something.
"we withdrew it from sale"
2. a period during which a retailer sells goods at reduced prices.
"a clearance sale"
