In comes a SNAD I just clicked on the details to find out what they complaint was and then clicked back out to think about it and 5 mins. later in comes You've accepted the return ebay email....

I think that was in the seller updates, among other similar cult commune downgrades to the platform. All returns even for completely impossible reasons are approved if you have free returns, and it counts in your metrics even though it did not need to. Sorry! It sucks.

I must be on a different ebay my ebay rules state... Beginning in October 2017, returns requests may automatically be accepted to make the returns process easier for you and your buyers. eBay will automatically accept a return request and provide a return shipping label to the buyer when the buyer pays for return shipping. If you offer free returns or if you’re required to pay for the return shipping label, automatic acceptance will only occur if you have not replied to the buyer return request within three business days...... I only got 5 mins.. not my 3 days....

I had a SNAD and Ebay gave buyer courtesy refund case opened and closed same day of delivery confirmation .. I go to listing says NO RETURNS - baloney I give 30 days - clicked 'sell similar' lo and behold '30 day returns' populates.
Of course they kept the FVF. How ebay is that?

Returns need no packing materials
Last one I got back was just tossed into a box 10 times too big, and sent back for the refund. It was not fragile, but was shipped to the buyer approiately padded.

it actually started In July 2018 as part of the summer seller update. Prior to that, in the fall of 2017, eBay started automatically accepting some remorse returns when the seller had a return policy with the buyer paying for return shipping.

No, it started in July 2018.
In 2017, eBay started automatic acceptance of return when the buyer paid for return shipping (remorse returns)

Yes, automated returns started in 2017.

that’s not relevant to the OPs situation. This was a SNAD and that policy just began in July.

But a SNAD is ipso facto NOT a Buyer's Remorse return so the seller pays shipping and SHOULD get the choice of whether using an ebay label or sending their own.
ebay needs to step back from merchandise that isn't theirs.
Well I was only stating the policy. I agree, eBay needs to step back. The seller should have the option to provide their own label. This is just eBay catering to the buyer as usual.

Afterall the buyers had the item for 8 days and just now discovered a sharp spot on it and cut their finger I can't imagine the hughmanatee they are dealing with this evening probably should flip them a extra 20 bucks for lack of consortium...
No one said they needed more compensation. Huge manatees are wherever one may see them, though...
Maybe no returns would serve you better. Just a thought. Then you can take all the time you want when the SNAD comes in.
Or you can require an RMA as someone suggested.
No that isn't correct, A snad will be an auto return, returns or not.
You don't have anytime to think about anything unless you set up an RMA

labs so I do or don't have anytime to think about a SNAD?

No bubble you need to require an RMA if you want any time
It was just buyers remorse at one time but it was announced & changed 9/6
I am set up for RMA , I can then look at my returns & if i want to issue my own label with insurance I can
https://community.ebay.com/t5/Announcements/Auto-Accept-and-Auto-Refund-Features-in-Returns-Process-...
eBay will now begin auto-accepting returns and issuing return labels in instances when the seller already accepts returns and the seller pays return shipping. This change will shorten the processing time of the return, help sellers manage returns in a more efficiently, and avoid defects should the buyer ask eBay to step in to help with a case. It also allows a better, faster experience.

So it says I have until Oct. 30th to issue a return label is that a true or false statement coming from ebay?

You're right. My interpretation was when did they start automated returns, period. I was going to originally say, during the summer, but then I found that 2017 update. Guess I had it right to start but posted wrong. Thanks, Jen
