I want to create a listing of an item already on Ebay. Sometimes for certain items Ebay will give me the image to use when I click "sell this item". Around 90% of the time, I get a screen that asks me to add an image, for which I don't have the image because im dropshipping from my authorized distributor. I don't want to use the images from anywhere because i'm afraid of the warnings Ebay gives on pictures. Im at a loss on what I should do for pictures. I don't have the items. I don't have these issues on Amazon.

Doesn't your "authorized distributor" provide images?

I don't dropship, but I would think that any contracted supplier worth their salt would provide you photos to use.

They give images. Just they instantly get hit with copyright notices. Been there done that with supplier given images.

Every now and then I get lucky and I can use the image supplied by ebay. Turns out I can't list all my inventory due to the image issue.

I wouldn't use any images you dont own, or you could get penalized by Vero. Its up to whoever owns the rights to those images to decide whether you can use them or not. Have you tried reaching out to the distributor to ask if its ok to use those photos?

Of course they say it's ok. They all say its ok until I get a copyright notice. Once again, I don't have this issue on Amazon.

If you have a written statement from the rights holder that its ok to use their images, then you have plenty of defense should the rights holders attack you later.
Vero doesnt decide what is infringing either, rather they act on behalf of rights holders who make a claim to their intellectual property.
But Vero is so incredibly broken and abused these days. I had a claim once for a stock image ebay provided. That's why I stopped using them years ago and take my own photos for every product I sell.
I understand you're not in a position to take your own photos because you're dropshipping. But as long as you have written consent from the rights holders, then you have defense if something goes wrong.

I only have permissions from the brand. I don't have permissions for the photo.

If you know exactly what the item is (brand, model number, etc.) look for a image of it on the web.
Better yet look for another ebay seller selling that same item and "borrow" that image.
Ebay does not penalize/punish you for using someone else's ebay image.

Instead of drop shipping why don't you just stock the items you want to sell on eBay? You have a lot more control that way.

If you find a photo in a google image search, you'll notice that it'll say that under the photo is:
"Images may be subject to copyright. Learn More" and by clicking on learn more, you can get more information on your rights and those of the rights owner.
@everythingvirtualstore , you say you don't have this problem on Amazon but if an owner or rights holder of an image reports (via DMCA) to Amazon, you will have the same issue.

Sometimes I spend 20 minutes looking for a listing with a stock image attached. How do I find these stock image listings faster? Thank you!

Thank you!

I can't afford my inventory. I don't have big capital to drop $8k for inventory and wait months if not years for it to sell.
