Advice for setting up a listing that requires 2 packages

Good morning,

Could anyone offer advice on how to set up my listing and shipping options to calculate 2 SEPERATE Packages.

For reference, I am listing a set of 4 SUNBRELLA pillows. 2 smaller 16" squares and two 19x13" sizes.

Combined weight 7 lbs plus a large box. My concern is the dimensions make shipping pricey.

I can ship in large poly mailers at 3lbs and 4lbs for each set and I believe this may be less for the buyer

How would I go about that, if it is possible?

Also, I am assuming I would have to manually upload the second tracking number with the same item #. Am I causing myself a headache?

Thank you in advance

Lori

Shipping is a real bugger....I say SQUASH 'EM!!!  Get those pillows to fit in the smallest box possible. 🙂  Best of luck!

SUNBRELLA is the fabric, not the brand. Sunbrella can be used for brands at HD, Pottery Barn, Crate & barrel, all the way up to custom designers.
Once again, I get that this is the perception of the average buyer. I will leave it alone.
It really is not an issue as I decided not to list on eBay.

Some things unfortunately are just not worth listing do to shipping cost. A possibility would be to get one of those vacuum sealers and shrink those pillow flat as a pancake ?

Ha I just did that. The pillows are poly filled and not feather
Those suckers held their shape like nobody's business. It actually made me laugh!

It's okay, not a big deal. Thank you for your suggestion.

Last time I wanted to list a giant Restoration hardware wreath, the shipping was outrageous, so I listed elsewhere and it sold in a few hours with very minimal fees.
I took that as a sign 😁
This is a sign I should just save them for when mine need to be replaced again.

Re: Advice for setting up a listing that requires 2 packages

Not having 41 minutes to spare out of my life, I chose to scan the transcript of the session.  All I could find was a discussion about this thread, with absolutely no new information or suggestions contributed by the podcast participants. None of the eBay employee participants expressed any sense of regret or apology that eBay doesn't make it possible to calculate postage for more than one package, even though sellers have been asking for this for years.  In other words, if you're read this thread, there's no point in the podcast.

"Nobody's perfect is pretty perfect." Gotta love that exceprt!
It is interesting that they did not elaborate at all. Nor even agree with your answer. Only that I accepted it as a solution.

It was a great answer btw.

Thank you very much.  But one reason the reply is so polished is that I have had to give it out so many times. When it really shouldn't be necessary at all. Seriously, getting praise from eBay staff for a discussion about how to "fudge" your way around a major eBay shortcoming actually makes me a little sad.
