I just recently sold something on eBay for around $1000 and everything went fine. I got my most recent invoice for normal listing fees and shipping, but it includes $116 in “advanced listing upgrade fees”. What is this? I’ve never had those fees before, and I never would have sold if I was aware I was going to be charged that much. Can I please get an explanation?

Edit: I never added anything like extra subtitles or whatever because I wanted as little fees as possible, and every time that I re-listed it said there were no fees.
Also the item item sold in a normal auction with 1 bid and no reserve.

This is a member to member board not ebay customer (dis)service so we can't see your invoice.
You should be able to download your detailed invoice and open it, find all the records for the item and see what fees were assessed.

Are you saying this fee was in addition to your final value fee for the item? I can't imagine any listing upgrade fee for that amount. There are also paypal fees, but those are taken out of your payment in paypal, not on your invoice.

Yes, this month I sold one item for $949. My invoice total is $246.16. It says it includes $94.90 in final value fees (normal), $35.26 in shipping (I offered free shipping so I paid it all), and the seemingly ridiculous $116 in “advanced listing upgrade fees”. I paid the PayPal fee earlier when I received payment.
Im honestly baffled by the $116 fee and can’t find anything that should add up to that much. I’ll be trying to contact eBay directly soon.

What do you mean by “cosmetic errors”? Sorry I don’t sell on eBay very often and I’ve never posted to this forum, so I’m not very familiar with a lot of stuff.

I’ll have to double check, I’m on my phone right now so I guess I can’t download the actual invoice.

So I pulled up my invoice on my PC, it says it is charging me for previous listings when it didnt sell, $40+$38+$38 as reserve price listing fees for three unsold auctions with reserve prices. When I listed these auctions It said there were no fees, otherwise I wouldn't have used a reserve.

so apparently, when i tried to have a reserve price on earlier auctions, they charged me a fee, which was 4% of the reserve, on each unsuccessful auction. However, I am almost certain that when I listed it, it said there were no listing fees, so I just don't know at this point.
