I just recently sold something on eBay for around $1000 and everything went fine. I got my most recent invoice for normal listing fees and shipping, but it includes $116 in “advanced listing upgrade fees”. What is this? I’ve never had those fees before, and I never would have sold if I was aware I was going to be charged that much. Can I please get an explanation?

Yes, you are charged a fee for reserves if it sells or not.
some people won't bid on reserve auctions. best bet is to start your auction at the least amount you would be happy at and hope for a bidding war. This way you avoid that extra reserve fee. If it doesn't sell no skin off your nose.

Why did you use a reserve?

We’re you able to get this fee waived? I just received a bill for $237 and I’ve hardly sold anything and didn’t see this amount anywhere, I am so confused

There is a nonrefundable fee for putting a Reserve price on an auction.

This fee is for having a reserve on an item you place on Ebay. I just got hit with a fee and called them. Do NOT place a reserve on an item that you are selling, it will cost you dearly.
