Lately, Google has been placing ads on my main “my eBay” page. And while I realize that internet ads are a way of life and we should all learn to live with it, this particular instance is a bit annoying.
The ad is at the top of the page, but it covers up some pertinent information that I sometimes want to be able to read, as well as actual links to other pages that are covered up as well. The ad cannot be moved out of the way. If I open a new page, within two seconds a new ad appears at the top of that page as well.
I am using Chrome browser on a desktop Mac running OS 10.11.6
Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?

If you are using a desktop browser, any ad blocking extension should remove that ad (and any others as well).
If you cannot use an ad blocking extension, you may have other options. If the ad has a little triangle in the corner, it may be part of the Ad Choice program -- and it may be possible to block that individual ad from appearing. It has been a while since I played around with those settings, so I am not entirely sure if that works, but it might be worth clicking on that little triangle to see what your options are.

The oversize ad covers part of my "All Selling" page but has normal placement on the other pages. Quite irritating.

YES!!!!!!!!!! It is driving me crazy. I refresh the page and then I can have a few seconds to view or to click on what I need. This is totally ridiculous!!!!

ebay is starting to resemble those click bait websites where there are so many ads that it will no longer even load the page you're trying to reach anyway.
It's becoming obvious the actual business of the marketplace has become secondary to the ad revenue.
Just leave the ads off my selling pages so I don't have to constantly fight your lousy programming to just list, sell & ship.
Ebay has to do something to show revenue growth of some kind. Once they sell off Stub Hub the reality of how the marketplace is truly operating is going to finally be uncovered for all, including Wall Street to see. Ebay has been doing all it can to maintain their stock price before the shareholders vote to replace the BOD and upper management and that is all that matters to them. When the shareholders finally see the reality of how Ebay has been operating they are going to go into shock and the stock price will drop fast as they all try to get out while they still can.
At some point Ebay needs to wake up and and realize that if Sellers are able to sell more items, like things used to be before Ebay went the super cheap route, and stopped showing all listings 24/7/365 because they did not want to spend more money on hardware that they needed. In the meantime Sellers are moving the majority of their inventory to other sites where their costs are cheaper as Ebay no longer warrants the prices they now charge for listings, fvf's and all the extra fees they continue to tack on.

I hope it's just a bug. It's blocking the quick links at the top of the page. Hard to believe ebay would purposely do this.

OK, everyone. Here’s an update.
Thanks to someone on another forum, I was steered over to try Adblock Plus. I installed it and that did the trick. No more stupid Big Ads on my page! Thank you, everyone, and thank you, Adblock Plus.

It doesnt make sense because it can stop people from buying on Ebay. And Ebay is all about buying.
Im not seeing that happening in any of my account and on none of my machines. I have no ad blockers of any kind. I just have a regular Windows 10 computer and Google Chrome.
the screenshot doesnt look like Ebay would placing that ad there. If you hit refresh does the big ad come in with everything else on the page or after it?
Also is the big ad always for the mortgage company or are other ads of that size appearing?
