Address/location issues

I moved from the USA to the UK a while back. I changed my eBay account address to a UK address but this isn't getting the result I was hoping for.

As a buyer, items (if listed in the uk) show international shipping. I can change the address when I buy, of course but I'm unsure if this limits my visibility to some auctions.

As a seller auctions show as if I'm posting from  the USA

HOW DO I FIX THIS?

@freakispiglet

In your account settings did you change ALL your addresses? In addition to your registered address there are also settings for your default "ship to" and "ship from" addresses.

When searching for items to purchase, make sure you are using your current location to calculate your shipping.

Using a desktop browser, try a "Nearest first" sort, and you should see your country or postal code displayed in the upper right -- click on that and make sure the details are correct.

So, I got the address changed properly to the UK now but there's some kind of glitch when it asks me to verify my location and phone number to sell. Every time I choose UK from the dropdown list, it changes it back to the USA. I can choose Afghanistan or any other country though. I'm lost on this one.

Does this happen when you are logged into the UK ebay site?

@wilpal-645, @freakispiglet,

I don't know which account you want to use to sell in the UK, but ...

If you ever registered (or started to register) for managed payments in the USA with that account, then you won't be able to change the address to another country. If a seller moves to a different country, then they can't change the address for selling, they have to start a new account in the new country to sell with.

You might ask on the UK site.......  I know  Asian and Pacific sellers have to register in the country in which they live..........they can't "transfer" their old accounts to a new country........  Not sure if that applies in UK or not..........

@lacemaker3is correct.

Buyers can change their location of residence anytime with no interruption.

Sellers on the other hand cannot. Managed Payments operates regionally, for example, Canada and the US are a region, the EU is a different region, Not sure but I think the UK is now in a separate region from the EU (since Brexit).

Sellers cannot move their SELLING account to a different region, they must open new accounts and start all over again.
