I posted a camera up for sale twice now, both times it sold.
First time:
Buyer paid for the camera and then soon after asked for the address to be changed. I cancelled the order reason being (buyer had the shipping info wrong). The cancellation took like 5 business days to process... finally, the cancel went through and I relist the item.
Second time:
Buyer acts suspicious with some direct messages sent after winning. I get a message from another account saying that this was a present and to change the address... I cancel the order again for the same reason.
This buyer address change scam is getting really annoying and I can't seem to find a way around it. Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Just for clarification, I understand the scam that is being attempted to be preformed I need guidance on how I can hopefully avoid this and actually sell the item.

I'm afraid you have to be 'dogged and relentless'. There is no sure way to avoid the various scams.
Look at the bright side, though - you know what to watch out for and can avoid getting easily taken. Eventually, someone may be along to really buy your goods.

Most often those 'requests for changing the address' once a listing is over that come via your eBay message account ARE NOT FROM YOUR REAL BUYER anyway. Always check the ID. It is likely that you are cancelling a sale for someone that has actually purchased your item.
I would IGNORE the ebay messages that ask for an address redirect. They are likely phony.

There is no getting around the scam beyond knowing eBay policies and identifying the signs of a scam. Also be sure to use the report buyer option on the orders so eBay in theory is made aware.

Unfortunately, you cannot use the "report a buyer" feature for a scammer attempt at a redirect that comes from eBay messages. They are NOT your buyer anyway in most instances. You can report your REAL buyer, but for what?

The first time sounds like the buyer changed the address.
The second time is a message from another account. You do know that might be someone who saw the sold listing and is fishing to have the item redirected to them instead of to the buyer who paid.
If you're getting messages from people who are not involved in the transaction you need to ignore them and just ship to the address attached to the payment.

Based on my understanding of the post the scammer is using two accounts to run their scam.

One of those thing you gotta deal with, as long as eBay is around there will be scammers looking to exploit ebays rules. Just gotta stick to the rules. My first sale was like this, guy purchased then ask me to change shipping. I didn’t feel right so I ask eBay support and not only did they advise me to cancel the sell, they said they Would also get with the buyer concerning the suspected scam. Never deviate from ebays seller recommendations and policies.
