Address change request

Buyer has requested an address change. Taking a look it turns out same city and zip code, just a different street address. For an $11 item I'm tempted to print the label and then hand change the street.  Any downside to this?

Address change request

If you're using ebay labels, there is an edit button next to their address. I just did one 2 days ago. A low price item. I've done it a few times and never had a problem

Thanks for that, I'd figured it was in PayPal and couldn't find it there. I will look more closely at eBay for future reference, but this time I ultimately decided to cancel for address issues and told the buyer to change her PayPal address and let me know so I could relist the item for her.

Address change request

eBay and Paypal label barcodes contain the destination zipcode, which could be either a 5 or 9 digit zip

(IIRC they are 5 digit but that may depend on input address format, and I would have to dissect/decode a few eBay and Paypal Pitney Bowes labels to determine which and to be certain. Maybe tomorrow for grins)

(there appear to be dozens of standard IMpb barcode formats along with custom ones, so there is no simple answer)

If 5 digit, then your plan would probably fly. If 9 digit, then no.

Those added 4 digits nail down destination to sometimes a very narrow location.

From Wikipedia:
A ZIP+4 Code uses the basic five-digit code plus four additional digits to identify a geographic segment within the five-digit delivery area, such as a city block, a group of apartments, an individual high-volume receiver of mail, a post office box, or any other unit that could use an extra identifier to aid in efficient mail sorting and delivery.
