Address Discrepancy

A buyer won 4 of my auctions for a total of over $200.  After ignoring 2 invoices and a message I got the resolution center involved and she paid immediately. I took the package to the post office but the supervisor stated that they buyer's address is not correct. It is a business address with the street number 402. The supervisor states it needs to be either 402A or 402C. I contacted the buyer to ask about this but no response. I looked up the address myself and found this notation posted beside it: "This address is used for mail fraud. The buyer orders an item, it gets delivered, they claim it either didn't show up or that it was damaged. Sellers beware of this address, the risk is on you as the seller." What should I do?

With the caveat that the above may or may not be true..........I'd cancel the order based on problem with address based on what the PO told you......

I don't know who/where the quote comes from about the address.....but it's not necessarily true, just because it's on the internet...........

Re: Address Discrepancy

Wonder if it's a new mail forwarder?

Re: Address Discrepancy

Sellers can NOT simply cancel for reason "problems with address" because they feel like it.

The ONLY acceptable methods to cancel for reason "problems with address" are:

- Ebay specifically informed you there is a problem with the address when you tried to purchase / print the label.

-- Sellers should *ALWAYS* purchase / print labels from within ebay, it is the safest method.

- The Buyer asked the package be shipped some place OTHER than the address of record at time of payment.

Try and purchase the label through ebay, if there is an error it will become obvious right before payment.

Re: Address Discrepancy

You can exercise your option to cancel, problem with buyer address, if you feel unsafe based upon the USPS supervisor

PO wouldn't let it ship... that would be the definition of "problem with address".

Re: Address Discrepancy

Is the business name on the address/address label?

If so i don't see a problem with not having unit A or unit C.

Victoria's Adult Toy Store or  Joe's Diesel Repair.

I would ship it to whatever is on the ebay label.

Pretty sure it's Joe Smith (or Jane Smith) and not a business name.
