Adding photo into item DESCRIPTION.

Hello. I have noticed in some descriptions you see a photo in the body of the description. The photo has been inserted on the page. I'm not talking about the  7 photos Ebay allows you to list.  Does anyone know how to do this? Does Ebay have their own hosting site you can use? I tried to insert an Image Shack image of the item for sale in my html but there was a message saying that Ebay will not allow unsecured http links. I'm confused. Thank you if you can shed any light on this problem.

Hi, actually eBay gives us 12 picture spots in the listing.

As for inserting photos in the description, eBay strongly advises against it. Many buyers use their smartphones to purchase items, and more and more are doing so.Therefore eBay has been stressing the advantage of having one’s listingS optimized for mobile viewing. Things like templates, borders, cursive font, colored backgrounds make it harder for users to  read the descriptions.

Before there was a such thing as "ebay pictures" we all had to do it by adding them in the item description.

Your photos need to be stored or hosted on the web someplace and a simple html code is used to insert them in your listing.  The URL used has to begin with https

Once the pictures are 'hosted' you can use a simple html editor to make your listing, and post the html view into the appropriate version on the ebay form. There are also third party paid services you can use to create this type of listing as well.

You would be better served taking advantage of more of the 12 available photos through ebay, including things like the label, and offering measurements.

I know, I know, not what you asked.
