Howdy! Does anyone happen to know if there is a way to specify what a "business day" is for me?
I'd like the "business day" to start and end at 5pm instead of midnight.
I offer next day shipping, which is usually fine, except that sometimes I wake up to find a new order, placed 10 minutes before midnight, that therefore expects to be shipped that same day. That can sometimes be a real challenge.
Thanks!

Because the one that comes in at 5 PM can be packaged and shipped out that very same day!
And if one comes in at 10pm, then at least it can be packaged up, with the shipping label printed and attached, that same day. A pickup can even be scheduled for the next day, thus finalizing the next-day shipping process completely.
But after I am asleep, it means I won't see new orders until 6am the next day, so I would prefer everything I find in the morning to be considered orders from that day, not the previous day. I ship these out same-day 99.9% of the time, and always at least print the label and box it up, but it's that occasional unusual day where I bring the box to the post office but just don't quite make it there before they lock their door (they close at 6 but often lock up at 5:45).
How is this not a problem for others?

The issue is only that if I drop something off at the post office after they are closed, they don't scan it until the morning.

Tell that to the post office! When I drop something off after they are closed, it does not get scanned until the next day. They consider business days to end when they close their doors, not at midnight. They do not differentiate between something dropped off at 7pm and something dropped off at 7am.

When I used next day handling, it was an annoyance because it worried me, but it never ended up being a problem. Do you have a large number of these? Even if you miss the next day scan, you will still be okay on the metrics if the package arrives ontime. I know it is riskier not to have that initial scan, but it's not a definite hit.
I didn't reread all the posts, but I didn't notice claims that Saturday/Sunday were counted as business days.
