Latest email from the boss man ebay. Aren't there Federal financial laws that prohibit these kind of moves by a business? I guess we are going to be forced into managed payments one way or the other. I wish the FTC would crawl up ebay's you know what. I think the action required is to find some other way to sell my stuff.

The Justice Department and 50 State Attorney Generals are investigating Google and other Internet companies ... eventually this too will be looked at.

I Am satisfied with it. I had some questions after I signed up and had a great chat with the team at managed payments. If anybody has any questions just call or chat with them on the dedicated page that has chat sessions.

Millions of Fees nicely wrapped and under the Christmas Tree.
... just in time for holiday bonuses for Management.

Questions should be able to be answered BEFORE you commit to the program and not on some secret page where only the certain people can go. On the Payment Board I notice that Jen seems to be online a lot but never on the Payment board to address questions. Very few eBay people at all seem to be answering questions. Only way to get your questions addressed is to sign up and by then it is too late to back out?? Sounds like a shady plan to me. I'm a Virgo ... I don't like surprises!!

I guess they never heard the story of the sheep that cried wolf! You should be able to trust something that says "Action Required" to mean that action is required. Why would we ever believe an "Action Required" email from them again when this was obviously an attempt to mislead you into believing that you must register now? This shows how desperate they're becoming to have people register when they feel they need to trick you into it with their title phrase!
Believe me, I'm thankful that the body of the message indicated it was still a request for me to join but it certainly felt like a slimy unscrupulous tactic with that title. Not a very professional act for a large company who should be projecting honesty and legitimacy when they're asking you to let them manage your money!
Maybe that's why it's being reported that many buyers are not paying for items. When they see "Payment Required" they probably think it's optional.

I will NOT sign up for managed payments until they can support PAYING FOR SHIPPING from my managed payments account funds. I won't pay for shipping labels from some other account that I have to keep funds in. Shipping, fees, refunds, etc. should ALL be able to come from MP account funds. If they try to force me in before they have these abilities, I'll stop selling.
I pushed back my plans to wait for the fall update to be released, but I'm still prepared to pull all my listings (here) at any time.

They did announce this functionality is being added.

Not doing it..until I HAVE to. And I might be gone from eBay by then.
@mg3483 and everyone else
The email you received requesting registration is accurate. As we continue on our path towards managed payments, we will require sellers invited to register. We are being very deliberate in who we invite since we do not yet support Global Shipping Program or eBay Charity Listings yet, yet have been clear that managed payments is coming for all sellers.
Sellers who have been invited to managed payments can be required to register.
Sellers who haven’t received an email shouldn’t concern themselves with managed payments at this time.
Thanks for selling on eBay.
Brian
Could you address the fact the email says "Action Required" when it seems to still be an option?

I also have GSP on ALL my listings....I don't think they looked at that before they sent me this invite!

@carlqsportscards To sell on eBay all sellers will need to register with managed payments. I wouldn't view it as an "option", it's not. This migration has already begun and will continue into 2020. As sellers receive the invitation to register, they should.

@mynewfindstore - I'll send it to the team - if that is the case and you have been selling to international buyers you shouldn't have to register. But don't use GSP as a delay mechanism. If you have GSP but no sales internationally consider registering.

I have received invites to managed payments at every stage of implementation, including the "action required" one yesterday. I am enrolled in Global Shipping (all my listings) and have had sales through the program regularly for years, including it being up to 10% of my business at times. Sorry, but I am skeptical of your characterization of the selection process.
In general, when managed payments was announced, I was actually thrilled. I thought it sounded great. Then the program launched without being able to accept Paypal (thankfully that one has finally been addressed) and no GSP. Those are my two deal-breakers and I seriously have been waiting for JUST those two features before signing up. All I want is to not hear about the program again until the day GSP gets added, at which point, by all means send me another invite. I'll be the first one to jump in.

@mdw13 Completely agree with you, and I will send your User ID to the team. If there is a reason you received the invitation even though you currently offer GSP I'll find out the logic and let you know.
Thanks
