Account Verification

I received the message about verifying account.  I submitted what eBay requested.  Unfortunately, my bank account HAD to be in color.  So I purchased color ink and submitted.  

My photo ID was in color, but eBay said they could not see the corners of my ID and it was too shiny.  Been a member for a while.  Now this!

I’ve been a seller for a year and am going through this random “account verification” process as well. They have my money on hold because of my middle name. One doc shows full middle name, one shows my initial and my eBay profile doesn’t have either. I’m guessing that changing my bank account to include my middle name will be the easiest, but honestly....seems like a pain. Meanwhile, I really don’t want to sell anything else while all this is pending as I may not receive my money.

I agree--this verifying an account is bogus--I've been with Ebay 20 years and now my verification did not go through--they said they have to break ties with me, I can no longer sell on Ebay---went to the chat room at least 7 times, got different answers--some blame technical, others say I am verified, bottom line after 2 hrs. on phone with Ebay--they say I cannot be verified and they can't tell me why ---  in order to keep the Ebay community safe--- safe from me who Ebay now views as a criminal --- I love Ebay don't you? Also, they owe me money under managed payments because they broke ties with Paypal, and will not pay me for items I have sold--they tell me because I am unverified, I must file a form with the state of Illinois to try and get the money Ebay owes me--it is obvious I will not get any of my money back. Good luck to all who magically are verified and Ebay did not break ties with.

Why don't you just do whatever they want you to do to get verified, like the rest of us?

Why do you suppose your bank account data had to be in color?  That's weird. 

I have two family members going through this with social security right now and I feel for you.     Too many people, too many stupid rules and no one knows what anyone else is saying or doing.  I really hope it goes well from here out.

But what would you do if they insisted that your bank statement be in color when your bank statement comes from your bank in black and white? Is eBay smart enough to figure out that black and white are colors? I doubt it.

I went online to my bank where I would get a statement if they requested one and yep, the statement is black and white. Went and dug out an old statement from years ago when I still got them in the mail from this bank and guess what, those were black and white as well. Does eBay know what color the statements come in from every bank in the world? I doubt it.

Do what they say... exactly what they say. Do it again and over and over again until you give them what they need.

Or, stop selling on ebay. 

It's all that simple.

the point here is that you should take the request seriously?? you have been prompted to do so and the problem here is that the photo is shadowy so the angle of your face cannot be seen clearly
then what needs to be done is to take a clearer picture??

I am verifying my account for 4 weeks already

Talked to them 4 times, each time different excuse but never told me to do anything except to fill info I am asked for.

I do it all the time, every 48 hours, they tell me to wait till it clears before they can do anything. When it past 48 hours they tell me they can't do nothing because there is a window open on my account and I need to fill info to get verified

It is on the loop. Selling for 11 years, just received 1099k but they can't give me money for last month because I am not verified.

You are lucky your verification went thru but do not be snappy with others, maybe one day you will be in my shoes

I've been fighting for two months for my money... They finally paid December sales in the middle of January. But it's been over 30 days now- and I keep getting different stories- you aren't by chance using BANK OF AMERICA are you?

Having the same issues. they didnt like my two banks i have used for years.. so i started a new one and they had issues with every piece of info i sent them. finally got the new account working and got two transfers to it. then they sent a message saying i had 30 day holds. so i asked why and they said my account was "not compatible with ebay"  so after quite a few chats and twitter messages i gave up.. then noticed this morning two messages from ebay 1 min apart. the first one said i had to resubmit my bank info and the second one a min later said my account was all good?!?

So i dont know if its all ok now, there is still a 30 hold on sold items. so i have no idea.
